This car's front license plate hints at speed with the letters 'XLR8'. John Ellers sends in these 1969 GTO photos with a car question. He asks, "I am writing from Australia. I have a 69 convertible engine code YS car. In theory 350hp not Ram Air, but I know the history of the car from about 1978 and it has hood butterflies and plate but chrome style air cleaner. NEW POST Henry Rhodes found this 1969 GTO convertible in pieces. Check out the chrome steering linkage. Henry comments, "I found this numbers matching 1969 GTO convertible about three miles from my house. It had been completely taken apart in the mid 80s and sat ever since in a barn. The car was highly optioned with power windows, hidden headlamps, disc brakes, power steering, power brakes, power antenna, AM/FM radio, A/C, and more. I took the better part of the day to dig the car out of ice and get all the parts home. I sold it to someone who is restoring it for Volo Auto Museum. It just goes to show that there are still great finds out there waiting to be found!"CLICK->

NEW POST Red 1969 GTO convertible owned by Henry Rhodes. Henry tells us, "I found out about this 1969 GTO convertible from a friend. He told me his uncle had an old GTO in his garage for the last 15 years and wanted to get rid of it. My father and I had to replace all the seals, hoses, gas lines and rubber brake lines from sitting so long. I sold this on eBay last year to someone in New York who is restoring it and dropping in a Ram Air 4 motor."CLICK->
