Mark had this story to tell, "After owning and later sadly selling my first 1969 GTO convertible as a 17 year old teenager in the late 1980's (a ratty and rusty car but loaded with options). I set out to get another by placing a wanted ad in Hemmings Motor News in 1993. I wanted the car to have similar options as my first GTO so the car had to be equipped with two of my 'must have' options, which were hidden headlights and a/c. After a few calls to my ad, I found a car in Maryland and bought it on the spot. The milder climate in southern Maryland and some decent care by it's former owners preserved it for the most part. I looked at some real rust buckets where I live in Northern New Jersey so this car was the perfect candidate for a complete off frame restoration down the road. I drove the car for a few years and then took out a loan to have the car sent out for a frame off restoration in late 1999. The car was completed in 2002 by Nostalgia Motors in Boonton, New Jersey. The car is nicely optioned with power disc brakes, power steering, scarce Warwick Blue, wood wheel, a/c, hidden headlights, remote mirror, eight-track player, headrest buckets with console, tilt wheel, turbo 400 AT, Rally II's, power windows, power antenna, gauges, door edge guards, tinted glass, cornering lamps, and power seat. The 350 HP 400 4bbl has some very mild performance enhancements but the car is basically stock. I would like to add the hard to find reclining bucket seat when I find one and maybe a Ram Air set up. The past summer of 2003 I got to show it and I won my first trophies. Since I was a teenager I have wanted a loaded new old 1969 GTO convertible and now I have one."
