Look what Jimmy Roberts from Mt Laurel, New Jersey found. It's a Crystal Turquoise 1969 GTO convertible! Plenty junky. Extremely junky, with beer cans on the ground! The photo looks like one of those junkyard diecast miniatures, you know how they lay out a bunch of junk all around the car. Jimmy adds, "I bought this car in January 2006 to restore. The previous owner gave up on restoring it and left it sit outside under a ratty car cover. Some of the replacement parts that he bought for the car were actually for a 68 and not for a 69. He gave me a replated 'chrome' front bumper and 68 door skins. The PHS on this 69 ragtop shows the only options to be an AM radio and hideaway headlights. It also says it came with a 2.56 rear, a 400 turbo (not coded for a GTO) and a 400-2bbl engine (one of 215 made). The car also has a bench seat and column shift. I guess the person that ordered this car new wanted the GTO looks and no performance whatsoever!" CLICK->

White Pearl 1969 LeMans convertible owned by Gary Ames from Malden, Massachusetts. Gary tells us, "I purchased car in 1993, drove as-is for a couple of years, put under construction for 8 years, and finished it in 2006. It now has a rebuilt 350, 4bbl, HEI ignition, high torque starter, sport mirrors, 69 Judge stripe, original parchment seats from a parts car, and a 69 GTO hood." CLICK->

Here is Gary Sawyer in his green 1969 GTO convertible. Gary purchased the car in rough shape back in 2001. Options include: automatic transmission, air conditioning, power steering, power brakes, hideaway headlights, console, bucket seats, 3.23 Saf-T-Track rear, AM/FM radio with rear speaker and tinted glass. It may look rough - but it runs! Ahh, and someone painted it "PaintSale Green"! As a little kid, I lived in a house that was painted dark "PaintSale Green". Then as a teenager, I constructed a clubhouse on the property. We went to the local paint store to get some paint to paint my new clubhouse. Guess what shade I got? They had gallons of the same shade as my house in the "Clearance" section for ONE dollar a gallon. The clubhouse was painted very cheaply the exact same shade as my house - dark "PaintSale Green". Nice flag. Gary starts the restoration by stripping the paint to see what he has to work with. The back quarterpanel is going to be the biggest problem. There might be more filler than metal present there? Gary adds, "The car is currently undergoing a full frame-on restoration. The interior and top were shot and will be replaced with a white top and complete parchment interior.
