Ken MacDonald from Nova Scotia, Canada is restoring his 1969 GTO convertible. Here is a shot of the frame with suspension and brake components installed. Ken tells us more, "It's a '69 convertible YS code, M-21, Palladium Silver. The car spent the 1first 24 years of its life in Nova Scotia, then I drove it to Alberta and haven't put 100 miles on it since. The odometer shows 69,000. I've known the car since the early '70's and always wanted it. Now it's time for a major restoration." CLICK->

Close-up of the brake line routing. This is a convertible frame. See how the frame (on the outside by the doors) is a tube which is hollow inside. This makes the convertible frame stiff. Hardtop frames have an opening down their sides which makes them weaker. CLICK->
Meanwhile the engine is reworked. CLICK->
Ken adds, "The only body part that was salvageable was the trunk lid (and even that was close). So far there has been a new floor pan (left side) from front to rear, two new 1/4's, two new doors, two new fenders, new radiator support, tires, four Rally IIs from Michigan, center caps are from Florida, (eBay is a great thing)" CLICK->

A peek inside. Ken continues, "As you can see, the guy who's doing the work for me is very fussy about quality, and will not paint anything until it is absolutely clean and shiny. He spent the 1st month just cleaning steel." CLICK->
