It's had a complete rebuild at 132,130 miles. Polished aluminum hi-rise intake. Custom built 670 Holley Street Avenger carb. MSD ignition with 6 AL electronic box and MSD Wires. Custom built ceramic coated Hedman Hedders. Comp Cam .270 DUR, .470 lift and lifters with Comp Cam roller rocker arms and custom push rods. Double roller timing chain. 400 high performance turbo transmission. 2000 stall converter. Custom tuned exhaust with Dynomax performance mufflers. 10-bolt GM rear end disc brakes. Hotchkis suspension with 1.3 drop. Hotchkis sway bars. Two SS Cragar 17" X 8" with Kumho 225/45 Z17 up front. Two SS Cragar 17" X 9" w/ Kumho 255/45 Z17 in the rear." CLICK->

As the sun and viewing angle changes, so does the color of Paula Gooden's Ruby Slipper 1969 GTO convertible. Paula adds, "To all GTO owners: At the risk of sounding like a prude, or sour grapes... What does it take to be seen or recognized when posting to this site? As a female owner of a beautiful 1969 GTO convertible that has had a total off-frame restoration, I refuse to spread myself across the hood of my car to get the attention that my car truly deserves! Don't get me wrong; I have all the T&A, but love my car too much to do that to her. Please remember when you're posting to the site that there are women around who can do, and be more than just a hood ornament! I am also tired of seeing the same cars over and over each month. Give other people, and their cars a chance to be seen and highlighted. I really do hope that this site is open

Bob Barney owns this Mayfair Maize 1969 GTO convertible. This one has a 400ci engine, Hurst his/hers shifter, hood tach, hideaway headlights and a Judge spoiler. We've seen this car at some past car shows in Fort Wayne, Indiana. CLICK->

This car's front license plate hints at speed with the letters 'XLR8'. John Ellers sends in these 1969 GTO photos with a car question. He asks, "I am writing from Australia. I have a 69 convertible engine code YS car. In theory 350hp not Ram Air, but I know the history of the car from about 1978 and it has hood butterflies and plate but chrome style air cleaner. Why?" Henry Rhodes found this 1969 GTO convertible in pieces. Check out the chrome steering linkage. Henry comments, "I found this numbers matching 1969 GTO convertible about three miles from my house. It had been completely taken apart in the mid 80s and sat ever since in a barn. The car was highly optioned with power windows, hidden headlamps, disc brakes, power steering, power brakes, power antenna, AM/FM radio, A/C, and more. I took the better part of the day to dig the car out of ice and get all the parts home. I sold it to someone who is restoring it for Volo Auto Museum. It just goes to show that there are still great finds out there waiting to be found!" CLICK->
