The cars didn't actually drive down the quarter mile. They were filmed standing still. They desired to have the cars racing pretty even. Filming took eight hours! By the tree, the Goat is still staging. Darwin writes in to give an update on the video, "Sean,
Just found out that ABC will not air the shoot. Wanted 2.5 mil for 30
sec. During the time it will be seen at the stadium, commercials
will be airing on TV. I understand it is terrific and I will receive all the props and several DVDs. The production company was so happy with the results that it will be used on their web site. It
can be downloaded and used as a screen saver as
well. The GTO will be the featured vehicle. It will show interior views and engine shots. The Chevelle did not have that honor. I think they decided on that because the GTO is a concours show car. Oh well, we tried and those in the stadium will be impressed. Was also informed by the producer that if other commercials are filmed they would like to have the GTO. They also pointed out that stripes would not be used in the future. Thanks for all the support." CLICK->
Green Light! They are off! I wonder where all the smoke was coming from? CLICK->
This is the video of the GTO that was seen on the bigscreen in the stadium before Superbowl XL. It is nearly 10meg in size and requires a media player to view. It is so cool! In the video, seen by the crowd just before the start of the game, the GTO is getting ready to drag race a Chevelle. You can see the reflections of football players on the cars. They use the dragrace tree to represent a countdown to gametime. CLICK->
Jim Costello snapped a few pictures of this burgundy 1965 GTO hardtop. Jim says, "This 1965 GTO is sitting in a small town in Northern Nebraska. My Brother-in-law told me about this goat while we were at his house for Christmas. It has a Hurst shifter and the buckets look like they are in pretty good shape. It looks like it could be restored." What happened to the front bumper? Looks like someone looped chains around the bumper edges and pulled real hard. Ouch.

The back end looks very good too. Maybe a little rust under the rear window and some chrome missing on the tail lights. CLICK->
What's inside this junked 65 GTO? It's got a manual transmission. Looks like mice have been living in the glove compartment. CLICK->
