Goldenrod Yellow 1968 GTO hardtop owned by John Roberts from Memphis, Tennessee. John had this to say, "I bought this car several years back from a guy here in town. It had been sitting in his backyard under a pine tree for ten years and had a tree fall on the roof once. I`ve been restoring it for the last 2 1/2 years as money permitted. It was ordered with a lot of options. The price new was $4316.00 and had the base 400/350 hp, 4-speed with air, and a tilt steering column as a few options. It was originally Mayfair Maize but I went back with a 69 color Goldenrod Yellow. I did all the work myself except for the paint." CLICK->

Carousel Red 1968 GTO hardtop owned by Tyson Mayer from Ontario, Canada. Tyson commented, "It has the 400HO engine with a M21 4
speed transmission. The original colour was Verdoro Green, but the guy who did the resto painted it the 1969 colour Tangerine Orange. It has the hidden headlights, and as I am still searching for Rally II wheels to replace the 1965 GTO Deluxe Sport hubcaps." This GTO backed up to a vintage Sunoco gas pump. You can see an old air machine on the garage wall as well. CLICK->
Tyson added Rally II wheels to his Carousel Red 1968 GTO hardtop. Tyson tells us more, "This is a photo of my 1968 GTO, cleaned and waxed, the day that it got a heart transplant (18May2004). I took out a hot 1974 Firebird engine and dropped in a reworked, rebuilt, hopped-up, monster, stump-pullin' 1971 GTO 400ci. I painstakingly cleaned and painted the engine bay and engine. I have all the original 1968 parts to make the engine to look stock 1968. I got the Rally II wheels in the winter and recently bolted them on too. My wife and I enjoy cruising to the many shows in our area. I will be taking the GOAT to the track to try out the new powerplant." PICTURE SET CONTINUED ON NEXT PAGE ...

Says Tom Harold (harold2.@iquest.net) - "This is the ONLY place to go for great GTO content! (And it's cool that it's based in my home state of Indiana. "There's more than corn" and all that stuff.)"
