Here's that 455 Greg built for his Tempest. He's taken to customizing the look with different parts and paint colors.

Cameo Ivory 1966 GTO Sport Coupe hardtop owned by Bob and Shyla Edwards from Utica, New York. Bob had this to share, "I've had a love affair with this car for 16 years now. I purchased it in Granada Hills, California in October 1992. I trailed it back to New York when I moved in 1995. I'm the second owner. The first being the recipient of a high school graduation gift to use for college (how lucky!). Being a girl, she never trashed it. It was all there when I came upon it, including all the first-year-for-CA smog equipment still in place. It's originally a 4 bbl, auto car with 3.08 open rear, PS, PB, AC, tinted windshield, floor mounted shifter w/center console, door-edge guards, white-walls and deluxe wheel covers, and, unusually, factory receptacles on the seats for headrests, although the headrest option wasn't checked-off on the option sheet. Options I've added are Tri-Power, 3.55 rear w/Auburn Posi, rear speaker, vacuum gauge, Sun Super Tach, tissue dispenser, stainless steel exhaust tips, Hurst shifter, BFG Radial T/A's (235-60 RR, 215-60 FR), 15" Cragar Street Pro's (older version) w/around 3.5 or 3.75 inch backspacing, Moog convertible rear coil springs and Gabriel air shocks, Although with the convertible rear springs, no air is required in the shocks for the perfect ride height. I also hand-made the tiger dice and a matching throw pillow for the rear seat, where our three year old daughter Grace resides on cruises and loves to yell,'...faster, Daddy!'. The trunk is fully restored and the interior is pretty much done. Future plans include paint, chrome and trim polish, and more engine detailing. I may restore it back to 4 BBL trim with the smog equipment reinstalled, seeing that it's so rare, but for now I'm having way too much fun kicking in the outboards! We have an attached garage with a window in the door leading from the house and I've gotten a kick every time I've walked by that window for the whole time we've lived here! I've had other toys, Harleys, etc., but none of them has held my interest like this. I can see how enthusiasts could consider a classic car a part of the family. I'm definitely obsessed!"

This car is sweet, so sweeet! Cameo Ivory 1966 GTO Sport Coupe hardtop, left rear view.

Under the hood is a 389ci Tri-Power engine. You can tell from the photo that particular care was taken when restoring all the metal finishes in here. The painted surfaces and natural metals look good.

I saw this car in 2003 at a Cracker Barrel in Ohio. It was for sale, so I felt free to approach it and look inside. Evidently, it was owned by Trish whom worked for the restaurant. Keep in mind, these photos were snapped in 2003 and the car certainly has a new owner by now and is no longer for sale. So no need to fill out the 'Comment' section with poorly-worded requests to purchase this car. The first one that usually comes in will go like this: 'Please to sale me this awsom car, how munch?' or 'I wants the car in your photo. Will you accept an money orders from Croatia?' or 'I know it's not for sale but does it have the all-original engine making it all-original because I want all-original.'

The car had a nice big "For Sale" sign in it. That's what attracted my attention. Note that the photos are from 2003 and the car is not still for sale.

The car wore a vintage 1966 plate on the front. That's a chihuahua dog statue in the back window.

The car was parked in the Cracker Barrel parking lot. The painted slogan on the trunk lid says "COLOR ME GONE".

This shot shows the paint condition and an interior that is complete. It also shows the owner's affinity for Arby's. There's Arby's in the front and Arby's in the back.

Scott Croghan owns this Blue Charcoal 1966 GTO hardtop. He also owns the red 1967 LeMans convertible next to it. He restored his car with help from an UltimateGTO.com sponsor, Pypes. Scott tells us more about his GTO, "I just finished a year long restoration on the car. I've had it for over 20 years. It has an all original 389 Tri-Power with the 4 speed. Updates include front power disk brakes and a .30 over on the fresh engine. Pypes stainless 2.5 crossover dual exhaust makes great power and even better noise!"

It has the dark blue interior. There was also a turquoise blue interior offered on the 1966 GTO.
