Cameo Ivory 1966 GTO hardtop owned by Rich Leone from Uxbridge, Massachusetts. Rich has this story to share, "The '66 GTO was my first car back in '72 and I've owned 13 since that time. I purchased this '66 beauty back in '92. It was for sale locally on someone's front lawn. It needed some cosmetic work but I drove it until performing a complete body off restoration and engine rebuild in 2000. This '66 GTO is a numbers matching hardtop, Cameo Ivory with a red interior. Its powertrain is an awesome 389 WV 360HP Tri-Power engine, M-22 "Rock Crusher" tranny with Hurst 4-speed, and a 3.55 Limited Slip Posi rear with a sway bar. It rides on Rally I rims with Red Line radials and exhales out of a Flowmaster exhaust. Options include Rally gauges, air conditioning, power windows, power front disc brakes, four way flasher and power steering with a tilt wood wheel. This is my baby and probably the last GOAT I will own. It is not a trailer queen and I drive it often but take very good care of her. In the first summer of owning my first GTO I went through 3 sets of rear tires. Rarely do I burn out with this GTO but at times I do jump on it and drive her like she was meant to!"

Cameo Ivory 1966 GTO hardtop, right rear view - down low. We're looking at a suspension upgrade. 1966 GTOs did not come with rear sway bars from the factory. John Delorean didn't believe the car needed them.

We have a Tri-Power engine under the hood. 1966 was the last year the GTO was offered with the Tri-Power. Halfway through the 1966 model year, it was dropped.

Nice interior. Take a look at that dash!

This 1966 GTO hardtop was sent in by an anonymous site visitor. It has a 455ci engine and a 4-speed manual transmission.

Another shot of this 1966 GTO. This time in the tall grass. This photo has areas of light and dark. Normally, cars are photographed better in bright even lighting conditions. However, these photos were kinda unintentionally artsy. The pics have a deep contrast between the bright white car and the super black shadows. This one really helps to reveal the aging of the car. I thought it was sort of like looking at an older woman's face in the bright sunlight. Rod Stewart sings: "The morning sun when it's in your face really shows your age". I'd name the car Maggie May!

And a shot from the rear. Compare this shadowy photo with that of another 1966 car. It has a well-lit rear end here.

Tiger Gold 1966 GTO owned by Mark & Mike Puzo from Longmont, Colorado. The 1966 GTO has been in their family since Feburary 1974. It was restored again two years ago. The 1969 is two years into a four year restoration.

Take a look at this Charcoal silver 1966 LeMans which has been converted nicely into a GTO. It is owned by Skip from Swansboro, North Carolina. Skip tells us more about this modified Poncho, "This is a car my Dad has been building for two years. He gave it to me for Christmas. The motor is a Chevy 350 with a turbo 400. It has a 3.08 gear with B&M slap shifter. It has BF Goodrich 225-60s on the back and 215-70s on the front. This car is a real head turner everywhere I go."

There's Skip behind the wheel of his Charcoal silver 1966 GTO clone hardtop. Smile Skip!
