Here is Jim's 1966 LeMans convertible at the GTOAA Eastern Regional Meet in August of 2005. He has added stripes, styled after Sprint stripes but
with 'HO' on them. The car took first place in its class. The car was featured in High Performance Pontiac magazine in the October 2006 issue.

1966 LeMans convertible project car owned by Joe Butler. Joe tells us, "I recently purchased this car for $1,800 and drove it home (it runs great). It's a super solid California car. I will soon be adding GTO tail lights and a built 455."

1966 LeMans convertible project car, interior view. It's got a console and a column shift automatic. Solid on the outside but the seat looks like a tossed SALAD car. Those look like later model buckets.

Barrier Blue 1966 GTO hardtop owned by Joe Glazer from Apple Valley, Minnesota. Joe tells us more, "I bought this car from someone who started the restoration. It had no interior, engine, and trans etc. It did come with a 66 LeMans parts car. It took a year to re-assemble. I got a donor 389 from a 66 Catalina, 093 heads (from eBay) and a lot of Performance Years orders. It's got a 3.08 one-wheel peel rear end, Dearborn (top-loader) 3-speed cog box, 389 .060 over, Tri-Power, hidden stereo, and P/S. It is a great cruiser, smooth to the groove like sandwich spread. Righteous man, righteous."

In this shot Joe has the driver's side seat out. Looks like he still has window seals to install too.

And a nice 389 Tri-Power under the hood. The air cleaners aren't on yet.

Martinique Bronze 1966 GTO convertible owned by Ronald Landry from Cumberland, Rhode Island. Ronald had this story to share, "I purchased this car from an old man a year ago [2004]. From there I stripped all of the chrome off and removed the interior. I then had the car media blasted down to the metal. After that, my friend, my son and myself did the body work in our garage including primer. I then brought the car down to my friend's body shop and had him paint it. After letting it sit a few weeks, another friend of mine buffed it for me. Then I put all of the chrome back on, which is all original and then put the original interior back in as well. Everything on the car is original except the steering wheel. We completed the body work in three weekends, the paint in one week, and the assembly in two weeks. Right now there is a 400 cubic inch in it with a trip setup. The original 389 is sitting on a crate and is going to be rebuilt - hopefully during the winter. One option that this car has is the red inner liner covers. The car had three original liners on it, but it is missing the right rear. From what I know the old man who owned this brought it in for a service in the 70's for an axle repair, but the red liner was never put back on. If anyone knows anywhere I could get a right rear liner please let me know."
