Brian reworked the rear fenders and painted it the correct color inside and out. Those are actually Chevy Rally rims. Brian said that the Pontiac ones were a bit too pricey for this project.

Iris Mist 1966 GTO hardtop owned by Shawn Genge from Little Smoky, Alberta, Canada. It looks like the Rally II wheels are painted Iris Mist as well. Shawn comments, "The original colour was Martinique Bronze. Now it is Iris Mist. It's numbers matching 389 4-bbl was pulled, rebuilt and placed in storage. It was replaced with a Date Coded 421 H.O. It's now got over 500 hp, looks stock, and runs mids 12's at 110mph. It's been upgraded with a Turbo 400 transmission, disk brakes, and a Ram Air hood."

Ron Dessel sends in this scan of an interesting 1966 model year pamphlet he owns. It contains pictures and a detailed description of each Pontiac engine offered in 1966. Notice that there were only two engine offerings for the GTO in 1966. It also describes the manual transmissions available.

Not much left from this 1966 GTO convertible owned by Marty Bollinger. Marty tells this story, "Here is some pictires of the worst 1966 GTO convertible there is I would say. It originally was a 389 3-deuce 4-speed car. The engine and transmission was taken out in 1969 to be put in a Studebaker and the car was pushed off a hill and covered with dirt. I have sold most the good parts off this car. Just side windows are left. I was buying a Roadrunner from the Son and saw the taillight sticking out of the bank. I went to look and was shocked at what I saw. So I had to buy it and dig it out."

This is the what's left of the front end of Marty's 1966 GTO find. The door has a huge dent in it. I cannot believe that those side windows aren't broken.

Forest Green 1966 LeMans with a black painted top owned by Matthew from San Benito, Texas. Matthew had this to say, "I got it in April 04 from a guy selling it for only 3 grand. I knew that was a good deal because it was in decent running condition. With the help of my Dad and Uncle, the engine was rebuilt. With the help of a summer job, I replaced a lot of stuff under the hood. I'm only 20 and in College so I can't work on it except for when I go home. I'm very pleased with it so far and its a real head turner. Any comments and advice for a young kid trying to make a dream car would be greatly appreciated. Also any place to find parts would be helpful."
