Here is a white 1966 GTO hardtop coming off the line hard. Wheelies! This photo is from Norwalk Raceway Park in Ohio. Norwalk is a great facility because you can get close to the cars. As a spectator in the stands, you have a good view as well. The concrete walls along the track are not so high that you can't see the sides of the cars as they go down the track. CLICK->
This car makes so much power on takeoff that the front of the car raises high into the air. How about another 1966 GTO hardtop getting some air. It takes a little skill to pilot a car down the strip when the steering is temporarily disabled because the wheels are not even touching the track. Looks great with the unrestricted headers dumping out the sides. This guy is racing a Firebird at Norwalk Raceway Park in Norwalk, Ohio. CLICK->
Stephan Wright captured this red 1966 GTO sport coupe at the 2002 Ark City Kansas Pontiac Uprising. Looks like it was up against a 1964 GTO. CLICK->
Black 1966 GTO owned by Lee Duncan from Canada. Leee tells us, "I saw the car parked in a driveway, with a for sale sign on it, and immediatly fell in love. It was in a starter and alternator shop and I visited daily. I got the VIN numbers, and checked them, and came back, and back. I finally got all the money together and bought it! There were a few other offers in, but the owner seemed to like me, and cut me a deal!" CLICK->

Holly red 1966 GTO. Look at all the other Pontiacs. Looks like a 1970 GTO and two 1974 GTOs. There are also two Firebirds. CLICK->

White 1966 GTO convertible owned by Winston Sterzel from South Africa. Winston had this to say, "Good day, I’ve recently bought a 1966 GTO (the only one in South Africa as far as I know) It’s in pretty bad shape, and originally a hard-top, someone decided to chop the roof off (there is no hardtop.. the guy just stuck some vinyl at the back to make it look like a roof is there) They did an okay job, but it’s pretty sloppy. Anyway I would like to try and restore the thing as much as possible, but I’d like it to remain open-top. There are very few Muscle cars in this Country of mine. For an enthusiast like me, getting parts is a real nightmare!" CLICK->

Red 1966 GTO drag car owned by Kevin Fautsch from Waite Park, Minnesota. Kevin tells us, "The Pontiac motor is a 474 with Edelbrock heads, Eagle crank and rods, Ross pistons, roller cam, Edelbrock intake, 1050 Holley Dominator, A1 transmission, and a 12 bolt rear end. The car weight is 3300 lbs and can make ETs of 10.70s at 123.00 MPH." CLICK->
Here, Kevin's 66 GTO makes a hard launch. I wish my car would pull like that. It just bogs down and stammers. No wheelies for me! PICTURE SET CONTINUED ON NEXT PAGE ...

Says Joshua MacCormack (jmac052880.@yahoo.com) - "Its nice to know a site like this exists, to see a lot of what people do to their GTO's, and they are beautiful."
