On May 12, 2007 the third stop on the 2007 Drive-In Movie Tour was at the Lake Shore Drive-In in Monticello, Indiana. Near dusk, this beautiful 1967 GTO pulls up to the front entrance. In it was Mark Hutsell and his wife, Bonnie from Monticello. They own 2 GTO's, a '67 and an '06.

Larry Smith owns this Linden Green 1967 GTO hardtop. This was our Picture Of The Week for 6-17-07. This car is still configured as it left the factory; Linden Green paint, black cordova top, black interior with bench seat, and 3-speed auto tranny with column shift. Larry has this story to share, "This was my first car and I've had it since I was 17. I'm now 40. I bought it for $100 back in 1983 and have held on to it ever since. I have recently restored it to its current appearance. The interior has been totally redone, including an original AM/FM radio with automatic antenna. This is a low option car, but you can tell it was built to do one thing once you get in it - go fast in a straight line."CLICK->

Mariner Turquoise 1967 GTO hardtop owned by Richard Eriksson. This was our Picture Of The Week for 11-25-07. The only factory options on this Goat were 4-speed manual transmission, Posi-traction, and AM radio. Richard adds, "I acquired it from a car museum in Florida in June of 2005. This car had just undergone a complete 'detailing' that included engine, transmission, suspension tear down, inspection and was then put back together with all GM original parts. Here is Richard's Mariner Turquoise 1967 GTO hardtop at a car show. It is parked next to the General Lee. During production of the Dukes Of Hazzard TV series, 309 General Lees were used. Fortunately, there was no TV series that trashed GTOs on a weekly basis.CLICK->

Candy Apple Red 1967 GTO convertible owned by Colin Hutcherson from Charlotte, North Carolina. This was our Picture Of The Week for 1-20-08. Colin had this story to share, "This gorgeous 1967 GTO convertible has been in my family for over 25 years. It was part of the inspiration for my recently published book: 'If That Car Talked: Good Friends and a 67 GTO.' My first car was a hardtop 1967 GTO and most of the 50 stories in the book are based on actual events about that car. The convertible was recently restored with new paint, 400ci bored 30k with Tri-Power engine, and custom top along with many other new parts. No, the 17-inch wheels are not stock, but I like them. Of course I can get the original Rally IIs like I had on my first 67 if I want to. It has only 73,000 original miles with power seat, remote mirror, tilt wheel and the trademark dual gate/His & Hers Hurst shifter. Just for fun I got a 2005 GTO for a song for my everday car. I used to ignore those 'new' GTOs too - but I can tell you this, it’s a monster to drive, just like the 67!
