It is mostly original. It also came from the factory with the rare red fender liners."

Here's Jeff's story, "I bought this car online 3 years ago from a so called classic car dealer in the midwest which turned out to be a HUGE mistake. I was very disappointed with the car and I decided to make it right. The car was restored completely on frame although I did change the body mounts. The interior was completely redone as well, including a new dash housing. I had my rally gauges restored by Precision Pontiac whom I found online. The original Rally 2's are stored. The car is a 400 4-speed with a 3.55 posi. It originally was a Cameo Ivory car w/ Parchment interior according to PHS. The car was repainted red before I got it. I decided to leave the car correct Red for 1967." Jeff's 1967 GTO was our Picture Of The Week for 6/29/08.

CLICK-> Restified vs. Restored Andrew Kuncas shows us the difference between Restified vs. Restored engine compartments. Andrew comments, "The engine compartment of Jeff Long's '67 Lemans convertible (top) compared to a correct original '67 GTO (bottom). Jeff's engine isn't numbers matching or date code correct but it does make close to 350 hp on 87 octane! A genuine '67 HO open air cleaner sits on a '71 Rochester. The intake is a '72 which matches the '77 Trans Am 6X heads that have the more desireable '4' stamp which signifies a smaller combustion chamber. The valve covers are rechromed TA pieces with welded in oil deflectors which take the place of the old GTO drip rails. The decked block is a '68 400, .060" over displacing about 412 cubic inches. The rods were resized and fitted with ARP rod bolts. The cam is a Summit grind like the 068 but more lift. It has a GTO windage tray and a baffled TA oil pan as the Lemans does handle. The exhaust manifolds are off a '71 Grandville, sandblasted and treated to Eastwoods paint. The distributor is recurved. All the accessory brackets and pulleys and the timing case cover came offa junkyard '66 Catalina."
