CLICK-> Red 1967 GTO hardtop owned by Michael McMillan from Davenport, Florida. This was our Picture Of The Week for 10/13/02. Here's what Michael had to say: "I am the 3rd owner of this car. The car is supposed to be Linden Green Metallic, and will be again as soon as I raise the money for the repaint. Car has great options, Rally gauge cluster, wood wheel, factory A/C, factory 8-track tape, optional spinner hubcaps, and Hurst dual gate shifter. The car was built in Baltimore Maryland. The original owner sold it in 1986 to the gentlemen I purchased the car from. I acquired the car in Myrtle Beach South Carolina on July 4th weekend in 1991. When I purchased the car, it had a 1971 Grand Prix 400 engine, and a Chevy 350 racing rear axle. I traded both items for the factory originals. In 1992, I installed a freshly rebuilt 1967 YS 400 with 670 heads, and the factory correct 293 rear end for automatic transmission.
Due to recurrent maintenance issues, I decided it was time to modernize the car to add drive-ability in 2002. I replaced the factory intake with an Edelbrock 2156 Pontiac Performer Intake. To accentuate the car, I mounted a brand new Edelbrock RPM 850cm Quadrajet carburetor. I also updated my factory distributor by installing the Pertronix Ignitor II coupled with the FlameThrower 40,000 volt coil. All I can say is.. WOW, what a difference!!
My parents had a Linden Green 67 when I was growing up in the 70's in Fresno, California. It was my mother's car, and she owned it from 1971-1979. I owned my first 1967 when I was in high school in Denver Colorado in 1982. It was a black on black with basic options. After 10 years of saving and searching, I finally was able to afford my 67 GTO again as an adult. This one having the same color and option package as my parent's Linden Green. I cannot wait to repaint this car! Linden Green is such a rare color, and adds elegance to the car. Dare to be different! All you see are Red, Black and Gold 67's."
Michael's car is now Linden Green and was the Picture Of The Week for 1/30/05. Check it out.
