This is the dataplate which sits on the firewall. Let's decode it. 67 is for the 1967 model year. 2 is for Pontiac. 42 is for the GTO model. 17 is for the hardtop body style. PON is for the Pontiac Michigan assembly plant. 21658 is the sequential body number off the assembly line. 223 is for the black interior. R is for Regimental exterior paint. 2 is for a black vinyl top. So the paint and top were both changed when it was restored. Tyrol Blue 1967 GTO hardtop owned by Brandon Wright from Hays, Kansas. Brandon had this story to share, "My Dad bought this car when he was 19 years old. Less than a year after he drove my Mother and I home from the hospital in it when I was born. 32 years later, in the summer of 2005, he sold it to me. A dream come true I tell you, as I never thought it would happen. Pretty much always a garaged street/strip type car, it has never been restored. It's been wearing those chrome slot wheels since it still had a new car smell, so I think they will stay in the name of
nostalgia. 455 and Muncie with 3.90 gears. No power steering, no power brakes, no air conditioning. This guy wouldn't have it any other way." CLICK->
