NEW LARGER IMAGE! This is Britney Spears posed on the hood of a 1967 GTO. Other singers have been seen posed near or on GTO's too. Singer Mariah Carey posed on the hood of a black 1970 GTO. We made that photo "Picture of the Week" a while back. Also, the group Ronny and the Daytonas posed in front of a GTO. It was their album cover shot. We have gathered up the whole set of pics from Britney's
New York encounter with a classic Pontiac.

This may be the best photo from the 2003 photo shoot featuring singer Britney Spears. She's taking hold of the wheel and probably singing her new hit "Me Against the Music". The CD called "In the Zone" has received favorable reviews around the world. In a TV interview with Dianne Sawyer, Britney was questioned about the sexual content in the songs on that album. Dianne Sawyer was especially curious about the words in the sultry-sounding song called "Breathe On Me". The words include; "we don't need to touch, just breathe on me". Hmm. Don't try this at home. Britney Spears stands up inside the red 1967 GTO convertible. An UltimateGTO.com website visitor who wants to remain anonymous was there for part of the photo shoot. We'll call him "Lucky". The shoot was at Pier 59 studios (http://www.pier59studios.com) in New York city in June of 2003.
Here's the story from "Lucky"... "I was at Pier 59 Studios for a photo shoot for Elle magazine because I was
interning for them for the summer. When we got to Pier 59 in the morning, I had to lug a bunch of suitcases up to the 2nd floor from the car. When I got into the elevator, I heard a voice say, "hold the elevator." It was Britney's bodyguard. All of the sudden, I'm on an elevator with Britney Spears! I stayed at the Elle photo shoot for a couple of hours, but I knew I had to find out where Ms. Spears was. So, some people from Elle wanted to order some food, which was made right there in the studio. I volunteered to
go and pick the food up. I knew where the restaurant was, but decided to take a walk around the studio first. After exploring a little, I opened a random door and saw Britney spears in her bathrobe, standing in the middle of a room, surrounded by her bodyguard and a bunch of stylists. I entered the room, edged my way up to her, and no lie... I lit her cigarette with my lighter. I talked to her for what seemed like 10 minutes, but it was only about 2 minutes. Then, her stylists took her away to get her ready for the shoot. I then picked up the food, took it back to Elle, and hung out there for a while. Two hours later, I went back to Britney's studio with my friends' disposable camera. I walk in the door and she was dancing on top of a red convertible GTO. I don't know who owns the car. I snapped a picture, which came out pretty bad due to the cheap disposable camera, but at least I have my memory of that amazing day when I talked to Britney Spears." CLICK->

Vintage picture of Scott's white 1967 GTO hardtop. This is but a ghost. A ghost of a GTO that has passed into the afterlife. Scott tells us this story, "This photo is from 1977 - on the eve of my high school graduation. Unfortunatly, on my way home from a graduation party that same night I hit a tree! No more GTO. If only I knew then what I know now." CLICK->
