An old photo. This Midnight Blue 1964 GTO hardtop is owned by Chad Warkentin from McLoud, Oklahoma. Chad tells us, "It's hard to believe I have had this car 20 years now. I bought it in 1986 when I was 16 for $310. Restored in 1988, served as my show car, then daily driver through college. The car as it sits now is covered in 1/4 inch of dust and has no engine or transmission. The steel hood is hanging on the wall where it will stay and be replaced with fiberglass. Original 64 hoods sell for big bucks and are getting harder to find if I wrecked it. The one positive of it all is the garage it sleeps in is air conditioned and stays dry all year. Both my GTO's will see the drag strip and I'm not afraid to drive them. Plans are to install a 428 with ported E-heads, Richmond 5 spd and 3 inch exhaust. The rear end is Chevy 12 bolt Posi and 3.55 gears. The wheels shown are long gone and will install custom billet Boyd 17" wheels. PS: My 69 year old dad drives a Torrid Red 05 A4 with SAP. Talk about getting the looks and grins from the kids." We have pictures of Chad's Spice Red 2006 GTO. Marimba Red 1964 LeMans hardtop owned by Justin Lovich from Flagstaff, Arizona. He just got done washing it. Justin tells us more, "I aquired this car from a lady down in Phoenix, Arizona. This is my second 64 LeMans. Originally sold in Los Angeles, July 1964 - It came from the factory with some unique options: a wood wheel, 4-speed, 215ci 6-cylinder, spinners, back-up lights, day/night mirror, vanity mirror, push-button radio, remote mirror, padded dash, and soft-ray glass. I've had the car for about three months, and am doing a slow resoration. Right now the car is nearly mechanically sound, so now I can worry about cosmetics (paint, new carpet, etc.) The car is a blast to drive, and everything runs smoothly. I plan on putting in a V8 (I now understnad why everyone wanted one, the 6-cylinder is rather lame). It's a really great car!"
