The VIN plate for a 1964 GTO is located on the left side (driver's side) door pillar. Let's decode it! The 8 is for the V8 engine. 2 is for the LeMans and GTO model. 4 is for the 1964 model year. M is for the Kansas City Missouri assembly plant. 18309 is the squential unit number.CLICK->
The data plate for a 1964 GTO can be found on the left hand firewall (under the hood). Let's decode this one too! 64 is for the 1964 model year. The first 2 is for Pontiac. The second 2 is for the LeMans and GTO models. The 67 is for the convertible body style. KC is for the Kansas City Missouri assembly plant. 1203 is a very early sequential unit number for that assembly line. 215 is for the dark blue interior. H is the Skyline Blue paint. 4 should be for a blue convertible top. Not sure why there are two 4's there.CLICK->
