Vintage picture of Bruce Wheeler's silver 1964 GTO sport coupe at the races. Bruce had this story to tell, "I bought this car new, in Bangor, Maine, while serving in the Air Force there. It was the very first GTO sold in the state of Maine. I took delivery of it on February 8, 1964 - the day before The Beatles made their debut on the Ed Sullivan Show. It was a bare-bones coupe, with all of the RPO performance parts that were available at the beginning of that model's run. The only 'luxury' option was the AM radio. It had a 4-speed, 348/389, 3.55 posi (I think) and not much else. I added short exhaust 'cutouts,' and removed the tailpipes - the exhaust dumped down and to the sides immediately behind the mufflers. I got rid of the vacuum carb linkage as soon as I could, and replaced it with the mechanical Royal Oak Pontiac kit. I added a set of chromed (slotted) 'custom' rims, very rare in those days, and installed a steering column-mounted Sun tach. Ran it on the street, and at the drags, as often as I could. With sticky Atlas 'Buchron' street tires (8.50x14) on the back, the car ran a best ET of 13.54 @ 105 MPH. I sold it in November, 1966 when I bought a new '67 427/435 'Vette roadster. That GTO is my all-time faviorite ride! Sure wish I still had it today! Aloha!" CLICK->

Vintage picture of Bruce's silver 1964 GTO in the snow. How many of us would even attempt to drive a 1964 GTO through a bunch of snow on salted roads today? Not many. CLICK->
Marimba Red 1964 Tempest convertible owned by Concours Buffing Services from Canada. This car is on it's fourth owner. It has four wheel power disc brakes, and a full suspension upgrade. They plan a quick ratio power steering conversion next. CLICK->
Marimba Red 1964 Tempest convertible, front end view. See that front plate? Is that a blatant advertisement for Concours Buffing Services? It certainly is a clever ad for Concours Buffing Services. The owner smartly edited the image of the GTO added in the Concours Buffing Services words on the plate after the fact. I wonder how you could contact Concours Buffing Services anyway? Oh, look! There is the phone number with area code for Concours Buffing Services right there on the Concours Buffing Services plate. It seems that Concours Buffing Services had a wise idea of placing their name, Concours Buffing Services, right there on the car. In case you missed it, the car is from Concours Buffing Services. When you want it shiny, think Concours Buffing Services. Look for their shrewd ad on a cool Tempest near you. CLICK->
White Pearl 1964 Tempest sport coupe owned by John Tolerico from San Diego, California. John added, "I just finished the car. My 64 Tempest Post has 18" Boyd Coddington "Rallye" Rims which I think look like the old Hurst wheel design. 8" wide fronts, and 9" wide rears. I am building a red 65 GTO with Boyd Coddington DICTATOR rims which will be done soon and posted then." CLICK->
