Frank Rinaldi (gtofrank68@yahoo.com) from Watertown, Connecticut did
a frame-off on his 1968 GTO hardtop. He documented the 5-year process
with photos.

The springs and shocks were also replaced.

This is a photo of the body of the 1968 GTO going back onto the frame. CLICK->
The body sits on jack stands.

This is a photo of the finished 1968 GTO frame. Bushings were replaced with new ones.

The firewall was painted the proper kind of black. CLICK->
Frank Rinaldi from Watertown, Connecticut emailed these pix of his 1968 GTO that was in the final stages of a frame off restoration. At this stage, the body shell was on jackstands waiting for the frame to be painted. CLICK->
The engine came back from the machine shop. The engine was put back in, but Frank says it would have been better to install it before the body was dropped on. CLICK->
The door jambs were painted along with the back side of the fenders. Here, Frank is painting the front valence panel that goes underneath the bumper. CLICK->
The painting process. After painting, the hood and trunk were installed along with the re-chromed back bumper. The interior and the vinyl top were put back on last. CLICK->
