Here you can pick up the pearly-ness of the paint job on this 1971 GT-37. Pearl paint has a soft rainbow-like glow. Looks real good on a sunny day with lots of depth to the finish. CLICK->
Pearl White 1971 GT-37, fender view. There's a whole bunch of emblems here. It's got a 455ci engine under the hood. The car has aftermarket WELD brand polished racing wheels. CLICK->
This car was sparkling. Pearl White 1971 GT-37, front end view. I didn't get to stick around for the awards ceremony, but this car should have won something for the nice paint and near-perfect alignment of body panels. CLICK->
Silver 1971 GTO hardtop owned by Bill Morris from Loudonville, Ohio. Bill has owned the car since 2001. Bill's GTO was Picture Of The Week for 9/2/01. CLICK->
Awesome blue GTO owned by Rich Barnett. The 1971 GTO had a very distinctive bright grille. CLICK->

Spin those Mickey Thompsons! Silver 1971 GTO hardtop called "Judgement Day" launching down the dragway. CLICK->
Another shot of the "Judgement Day" silver 1971 GTO hooking up hard on the lane. See the back tire? Racers reduce the air pressure in their slicks. This helps the tire to "wrap" like this around the track. Good for traction. Some racers also need to screw the edge of the tires to the rim to keep them from spinning on the rim. Does it look like there are screws around the rim of the M/T's? CLICK->
Red 1972 GTO hardtop with a white interior and a 455ci engine. This is a nice setup for a day at the track. A tilt-bed car hauler that matches the car. CLICK->
This GTO has a couple of extra gauges attached to the windshield pillar. CLICK->
Chrome exhuast splitters, like these, were standard equipment on the 1972 GTO. The rubber stuck to the paint is optional. CLICK->
The end of a run. This 1972 GTO qualified the quarter mile in 10.35 seconds. That's real quick. Here, the driver is collecting his time slip from the timing booth. CLICK->
White 1973 GTO Sport Coupe owned by Dan McMonnell. See the sticker on the top of the windshield. This car had an interesting theme of skulls and flames. CLICK->
Dan painted the hood scoops on his 1973 GTO red. The scoops were inspired by aircraft. The shape was perfected in a wind tunnel to suck in a maximum amount of air. CLICK->
There's a tiger trapped in the trunk. Tiger tails are a recurring theme at Pontiac car shows. It's all due to the fact that Pontiac's ad agency used tie-ins with tigers in their print ads and TV ads of the day. PICTURE SET CONTINUED ON NEXT PAGE ...
