Site visitor, Paul, sends us a snapshot of a Brazen Orange 2006 GTO on display at the Detroit Auto Show just when they came out. This one has the stock appearance with the optional 18 inch wheels. Take a look at that cool GTO display sign in the background.CLICK-> 
Paul also took this picture of a Spice Red 2006 GTO at the Detroit Auto Show. Spice Red and Brazen Orange (the GTO in the background) display the two new colors for the 2006 GTO. This one appears to have the optional Sport Appearance Package SAP. The SAP package includes different bumpers, grille, spoiler, and rocker panels. This one retains the original spoiler.CLICK-> 
CJ Noel created a Pontiac GTO image from a Holden Monaro image. He modified the Monaro by adding GTO badging and took away the spoiler. The color is similar to the Orbit Orange of a 1970 Judge.CLICK->

Site visitor, Dean, snapped these pictures of a new Brazen Orange 2006 GTO at a dealership in San Diego, California. Brazen Orange is a new paint color for the 2006 GTO. Another new color for 2006 is Spice Red which can be seen on the GTO all the way to the right in the background.CLICK->

"I must say that I'm not sure what was more forgettable about the new GTO, the total lack of a sustained & decent ad campaign or the unremarkable & almost invisible body style. Pontiac made way more hype about the G6! Now the current Mustang... that's how to do it! A car that equally attracts the muscle car and sport compact fans (young and old). Proof that the classic, even somewhat retro styling is not really retro, but actually a mark of a well engineered car that demands attention. The Challenger will be a similar success." CLICK-> 
The gauges in the Brazen Orange 2006 are orange. The seats come standard in black, but are stitched in orange thread. You can see that the steering wheel and shifter are also stiched in orange thread.CLICK-> 
We have all the years lined up here. The 2006 Brazen Orange, 2005 Phantom Black, and 2004 Torrid Red GTOs. You can tell them apart from the rear pretty easily. The 2004 only has two small exhaust pipes exiting out the driver's side rear. The 2005 comes with split dual exhaust and bright red tail lights. The 2006 has the same exhaust as the 2005 but blackened tail lights. CLICK-> 
Here are the three years of GTOs from the front. The Torrid Red 2004 on the far left has been fitted with a 2005 GTO hood. The Phantom Black 2005 and Brazen Orange 2006 both have 18 inch wheels while the Torrid Red 2004 has the standard 17 inch wheels. |
