This is cool. It's a Torrid Red preproduction 2005 GTO with the Sport Appearance Package (Autocross) package. This will be a dealer installed option on the 2005 GTO. The package consists of a different spoiler, recessed grilles, and different lower body trim panels all the way around. The option is only available on the Phantom Black, Quicksilver, and Torrid Red 2005 GTOs. There's a reason why the option has limited color availability. The bodykit parts come from the factory pre-painted in the black, silver, or red colors only. CLICK->

Look what we have here. This picture was taken last weekend (Nov 27th, 2004) by site visitor Peter Scott. This is a batch of 2005 GTOs waiting on the wharf at Port Adelaide, Australia. This is just down the road from the Elizabeth plant where they were built. You can just make out the hood scoops under the white plastic on the hood. Check out an enhanced version of this picture where the scoops are easier to see. I see two Torrid Red 2005 GTOs, next to a Yellow Jacket, next to a Quicksilver, and another Torrid Red 2005 GTO. We graphically enhanced the last photo. Here you can clearly see little bumps on each hood. These are the hood scoops which were promised on the 2005 GTO. Compare with a picture of an uncovered preproduction 2005 GTO. CLICK->

This 2005 GTO will be raced part way through next year's (2005) season of the Grand American Rolex Sports Car Series. They are calling this car the Pontiac Crawford DP03 GTO. The announcement came at the SEMA Specialty Equipment Market Association trade show in Las Vegas, Tuesday, November 2, 2004. CLICK->
