A GTO emblem was no longer required for the trunk lid. The designers added a PONTIAC emblem on the left and a 6.0 emblem on the right.

CLICK-> 2005 GTO Sticker Here is the window sticker for the Phantom Black 2004 GTO. You might be able to read it. The sticker lists the car's mechanical features, the safety and security equipment, the interior amenities, and the exterior features.
CLICK-> 2005 GTO Window Sticker Has viewer comments The standard price is $32,295. Then add $1,300 for the gas guzzler tax. This tax is for the automatic transmission only. Then add another $700 for the destination charge (bottom). The total is $34,295.The Energy Tax Act of 1978 established a Gas Guzzler Tax on the sale of new model year cars (not trucks) whose window sticker fuel economy fails to meet the levels reported below. The idea is to discourage the sale and purchase of fuel inefficient vehicles.
Combined MPG* Tax
at least 22.5 $0
at least 21.5, but less than 22.5 $1000
at least 20.5, but less than 21.5 $1300
at least 19.5, but less than 20.5 $1700
at least 18.5, but less than 19.5 $2100
at least 17.5, but less than 18.5 $2600
at least 16.5, but less than 17.5 $3000
at least 15.5, but less than 16.5 $3700
at least 14.5, but less than 15.5 $4500
at least 13.5, but less than 14.5 $5400
at least 12.5, but less than 13.5 $6400
less than 12.5 $7700
* Combined MPG is calculated by using 55% of the posted city MPG and 45% of the posted highway MPG values. When I run through the calculation with the big numbers posted on the window sticker, I get the wrong anwser. The 2005 GTO is 16 city and 21 highway. Calculate 16*0.55+21*0.45 = 18.25 combined MPG. That would make a $2600 tax. The 2004 GTO had the same posted MPG and it has a $1000 tax. There is some little writing on the sticker about fuel ecomony which might clear this up.

CLICK-> 2005 GTO Diecast Thom Sherwood at COLORTEKS Creative gives us a sneak preview of a Yellow Jacket 2005 GTO diecast that is about to come out. Thom explains, "While attending the Barrett-Jackson auction in Arizona in January, 2005, I ran into the folks from GMP scale models. They are now able to publicly display their first two prototypes of the '05 GTO. Detail is very good! Actual models should be available in April 2005 for about $99 each."
CLICK-> 2005 GTO Diecast The details on other classic GTO GMP models are amazing. This one looks equally impressive. The gauges even look yellow.
CLICK-> 2005 GTO Diecast The hood, trunk, and doors open on the GMP preproduction Yellow Jacket diecast.
CLICK-> 2005 GTO Diecast Has viewer comments The rear end of the GMP preproduction 2005 Yellow Jacket GTO is equally detailed.

CLICK-> 2005 GTO Diecast Thom Sherwood also shot some pictures of the Torrid Red 2005 GTO GMP diecast. We get to see under the hood in this shot. The details have been reproduced with accurately. Thom observed these diecasts on display while attending the Barrett-Jackson collector car auction in January of 2005 in Scottsdale, Arizona.

This is an Impulse Blue 2005 GTO owned by Brian Edgerton from Horse Shoe, North Carolina. That's his wife, Clarissa, standing next to it. Brian tells us about his purchase, "We were visiting my wife's family in Marion, Virginia two weeks ago. We happened to be eating at the local Pizza Hut on N. Main St, directly across the street from Marion's Chevy, Buick, & Pontiac dealership. I saw this bright blue vehicle. I thought it was a new GTO and walked across the street and yep, it was. I bought it on the spot (really took several hours) and drove it back to North Carolina. My wife followed me in our 2003 Chevy Z71 Tahoe. Believe me, this little GTO is a fantastic vehicle and the acceleration is beyond my expectation."

Here's a comment from a recent visitor...
Says Jeffrey N. Meyer (Jefflerna.@ucd.net) - "I'm out here in the middle of the Pacific on the Island of Guam. I'm a GTO/Pontiac fan! Ever since my Dad owned a Green '68 GTO when I was young. There are 2 GTO's on this Island of 150 thousand people, I've seen or heard of a black '69 convertible, and heard of a (story) of a '64 stashed away somewhere. So maybe if I get rich someday (hee, hee) or if I go back to the states. I'll certainly buy a '68 or a '69 GTO!"
