George Barris GTO Roadster, rear end view. George says there are five things to learn in customizing cars and car designing. Don't smoke, don't drink, no drugs. But you are allowed to have two bad habits... Cars and Girls. So stick with those two bad habits and you can be a car culture person and always have fun. CLICK->
A shot of the interior from the driver's side. The top of the windsheld has no frame. I like how the doors open. You don't have to worry about hitting the car next to you in parking lots. CLICK->

This is George Barris. In 2004 he was named "The World's Greatest Customizer" and honored with the Robert E. Petersen Lifetime Achievement Award at the Hotrod and Restoration Trade Show in Indianapolis, Indiana on February 27, 2004. Well over 700 people were in attendance at that ceremony to show their respect to the "King of Kustom". George stays busy at the Barris shop. They keep creating more new kustom, TV and movie cars. You might see him attending car shows and selling merchandise. There are new die cast toys coming out as well as a new line of Barris clothing. The Barris gang has put together a DVD called "Barris Kustoms of the 50's". It is signed by George Barris and includes rare home movie footage and many pictures from the Barris archives. The one hour DVD highlights all the great kustoms built in the Barris shop like The Hirohata Merc, The Matranga Merc, The Kopper Kart, Sam Barris' '49 Mercury, The AlaKart, The Aztec, The Emporer and many more. You might want to order one at Barris.com .

This napkin with signatures is the "contract" to build the GTO Roadster. It took only 31 days to build it. George Barris' signature on the bottom. Above that he wrote, "Done March-13-05 11:19am". That was the same day the car was being displayed for the first time. CLICK->
Torrid Red 2004 GTO owned by Larry McGrath from Riverside, California. Larry tells us, "I bought it new in August 2004. I then gave to Vortech as a project car. It's a Vortech Super with Wilwood big brakes, iForged Aero wheels, Quickor rear sway bar, Rip shifter, Bassanni exhaust, and Eibach springs." CLICK->

Cosmos Purple 2004 GTO owned by Kat von Stappenbeck from New Jersey. Kat tells us more, "Ever since I knew what cars were and approached driving age, I've wanted a GTO. I always thought it would have to be a classic till they announced re-introduction of the GTO for 2004. Found my color and bought the car while it was still on the boat. I picked it up December 2, 2004 and loving every minute of driving the car. It's more than I could have imagined, since I've never driven any GTO before. The picture is my very first car show. (No mods yet, but I'm still shopping!) I arrived early at the 'Pontiac Show & Go' held 4/9/2005 at Raceway Park in Englishtown, NJ. I was the first 2004/2005 in the show area! Even though I didn't race (which I hope to soon) and didn't win anything, it was a great day! I met some nice GTO owners (new & old) and got to see some great racing. Someday, my original dream will come true and I'll own mutiples - a 1964, a 1970, my 2004, and....who knows!" CLICK->

Under all that snow is Kat's Cosmos Purple 2004 GTO. Kat explains, "This picture was taken shortly after I picked up my new 2004 GTO last December. I didn't have the car cover yet and I don't have a garage - so, the poor car got laden with snow in one storm." CLICK->
Torrid Red 2004 GTO owned by Mike C from Oakdale, California. Mike tells us about his purchase, "I went in with a 2001 GMC 2500HD 8.1L truck to trade it in for a newer truck. Somehow or another ended up buying a new 2004 Pontiac GTO. I don't regret it one bit. I love this little car - it's fast, it's reliable, and fun to drive." CLICK->
Mike added larger aftermarket wheels to his Torrid Red 2004 GTO. CLICK->

Says NCAA Brackets (jaybucha.@indiana.edu) - "The greatest compilation of pictures honoring the FIRST true muscle car, and in my eyes the greatest there ever was, is, or ever will be."
