Jeff Tranter owns this Yellow Jacket 2004 Lingenfelter GTO. It was a test car featured in the August 2004 issue of Motor Trend magazine. It has 450 horsepower and 395 lb/ft torque. Jeff comments, "This car was built as an LPE Research & Development car. It's got their new motor and suspension package. Mine is the only car that LPE has built (so far). This orange concept 2004 GTO was displayed with more than 125 other GM Powered classic, production, race and concept vehicles at the 10th Annual Woodward Dream Cruise Aug. 19-21 in the Detroit area. The GTO concept has a 6.3-liter V-8 engine with 500 horsepower at 5200 rpm and 500 lb.-ft. of torque at 5000 rpm. It also has a six-speed manual transmission, modified brakes, bigger wheels and tires and new exhaust. The bright orange exterior features a new hood, fender, quarter panel, spoiler, front and rear fascia and rockers. The modified GTO is an "Employee Enthusiasm" vehicle, an internal volunteer program that gives younger GM engineers the opportunity to manage a concept car from start to finish. Do you want one? Anthem Motors in Phoenix Arizona is offering their version of this car as the GTO RA6 Styling and Performance package on the 2006 GTO. CLICK->
Orange concept 2004 Ram Air 6 GTO, right rear view. This concept has a pair of chrome exhaust splitters exiting just behind the rear wheels similar to the 1964 and 1972 GTOs. Here is an excerpt from an Oct 31, 2004 GM press release, "The 2004 Pontiac GTO Ram Air 6 is reminiscent of the production Pontiac GTO Judge of the 60’s and 70s. This vehicle is a modern interpretation of the classic, from its rollback orange exterior color to its authentic and functional ram air hood. The 389 cubic-inch V8 powerplant, matched with 6-speed manual transmission, supplies 575 horses to the 335/30/R20 inch rear tires. The front wheels are fitted with 285/30/20 high performance tires."
