Black 1974 GTO, left rear view. Here you can see the hatchback door seam. And there are the horizontal tail lights I was discussing earlier. They are a clean, simple design, that looks like something a car customizer would make. But the factory did that. CLICK->

This black 1974 LeMans is owned by Gregory Wise from Mount Prospect, Illinois. Here's what Greg had to say, "This is the first car I ever owned. I bought it 23 years ago (1979) and I have restored it twice in my garage. Each restoration was a little more complete than the last but its hard to find parts for this car. Recently, the engine was rebuilt and the 455 now puts out 551 HP and 579 ft/lbs of torque. Quarter mile times are in the mid 12s and with slicks I hope to hit a high 11. This is a great car to cruise the streets. This car came with a 4.11 rear end, turbo 400 transmision, moon roof, louvered windows, 455 engine and the hood scoops. All this from the factory. It's a shame that they don't build these cars any more!"
This car has the NACA hood scoops. NACA was the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics, which in 1958 became NASA. Does anyone know how Pontiac referred to these scoops in their literature? Did they call them NACA or NASA in print? CLICK->
Black 1974 LeMans, left front view. The 1974 LeMans does not resemble the 1974 GTO because the 1974 GTO was an option on the Ventura model. Gregory has red highlights in the NASA style hood scoops. CLICK->
