Burgundy 1973 GTO Sport Coupe, engine view. These cars had huge engine compartments. The front fenders had the 455 decal. I don't know if this is really a 455ci engine. CLICK->
Black 1973 GTO Sport Coupe. This goat has a 455ci engine, automatic, and a 4.11 posi rear. It is described as 'all original.' But they did not offer a 4.11 rear in 1973. I think that 'all original' is a term that's used way too often by people that do not know what it means. I saw an ad in a local paper the other day that read "1949 Chevy customized with shaved door handles and lowered. All original." Well, no, it WASN'T all original! If anything on the car is not original, you can't call it all original. CLICK->
Black 1973 GTO Sport Coupe, front end view. This car has an Illinois plate on it. Illinois boasts the highest number of personalized license plates, more than any other state. Hey, sports fans, Illinois is home to the Chicago Bears Football Team, Chicago Blackhawks hockey team, Chicago Bulls basketball team, Chicago Cubs and Chicago Whitesox baseball teams, and the Chicago Fire soccer team. Black 1973 GTO Sport Coupe, rear end view. It doesn't look like it would take much to restore this one. That Illinois plate reminds me of some more Illinois trivia. Before Abraham Lincoln was elected president he served in the Illinois legislature and practiced law in Springfield. Abraham Lincoln is buried just outside Springfield at Lincoln Tomb State Historic Site. Illinois is also home to website helper Jeff Klein. He was never President of the United States. CLICK->
Black 1973 GTO Sport Coupe, interior view. Here comes some more useless Illinois trivia. Illinois has 102 counties. Neighboring Indiana has only 92 counties. So web helper Jeff's state beats webmaster Sean's state by a whopping 10 counties! CLICK->
That is a 455ci engine under the hood. Needs a little cleaning. While we're talking numbers, did you know that the highest point in Illinois is Charles Mound at 1235 feet above sea level? Or that the University of Illinois Conservatory is 37 feet high at its apex? CLICK->
Documentation is very important when buying or selling a GTO. This one has the original warranty book, maintenance schedule, and user's guides. The "Car Owner's Companion" package in the lower left is a cardboard envelope that the dealer gave the owner to hold all this paperwork. CLICK->
Ben Schwipps found this Valencia Gold 1973 LeMans for sale in Milan, Indiana. Ben explains, "The owner inherited it from the original owner three weeks ago (04/2005) and is now trying to sell it and make a ton of money. The car is a 38,200 mile original car, and until three weeks ago, never sat out in the rain or bad weather. The interior is like brand new, and the paint everywhere is original. Even the tires it is sitting on are the original ones! The owner was 'told by an expert' that this car was worth $15k. They are asking $7,500. Quite a bit on the high side, but a very nice car nonetheless. Thought you might like to post this somewhere on your site under the category of 'for sale but not going anywhere anytime soon for the price', haha!" CLICK->
Valencia Gold 1973 LeMans, left side view. This car has Rally II wheels, vinly body side moldings, and a black vinyl top. CLICK->
Valencia Gold 1973 LeMans, rear end view. As if these bumpers weren't be enought, this LeMans has the optional rubber bumper guards. CLICK->
This black 1973 GTO has the 400ci engine with NOS. It puts out about 600 horsepower. CLICK->
The owner is putting some of that 600 horsepower to work spinning those Cragars. This gentleman is obviously not following these standard tips on quitting smoking: (1) Try the patch. (2) Take away the keys. (3) Run in place. (4) Start a reward fund - put away the amount you spend on tires every day and use it to treat yourself once in awhile. (5) Go plant a flower for every burnout mark you've ever made. (6) Clean out the litter box. (7) Check your car's tire pressure. (8) Write a goodbye letter to tire smoking. CLICK->
Black 1973 GTO, front end view. But this pic makes me want to smoke.
Here's a comment from a recent visitor...
Says Robert (hiyo.@aol.com) - "You are my hero. I am 50. I had a friend who owned a '67 goat in '69. He let me drive it. I have never forgotten the experience. It was maroon with white interior h/t 4 spd tri power. He let me wind it up. Wow."
