Gold 1973 GTO owned by David Rasmussen from Memphis, Tennessee. This was our Picture Of The Week for 2/24/02. David comments, "This is my "new" 1973 GTO. I bought it in California on Saturday (in Oct 2001) and am driving it back across the country. This picture was in Utah. My Brother owned a '73 back in 1976 when I was in High School. I used to "borrow" it all the time! This one had 55,000 original miles. Everything is still original."CLICK->

Starlight Black 1973 GTO owned by Tim Dimick from Olathe, Kansas. This was our Picture Of The Week for 6/1/03. Tim had this to say, "I bought it from a guy who had too many toys and let it go for a decent price. I drove about 3 hours to see it and wasn't real impressed. It needed a lot of cosmetic work and it wasn't running very well. It was backfiring and sputtering so bad that when we took it for
a test drive, we had to pull into a local garage and leave it there.
His wife had to come and pick us up. I went home and thought about it
for a few days and decided that if the previous owner would trailer it
up to me and help me get it in my garage, I would still buy it. So, he
agreed and I bought it. It was still not running very well. In fact,
it was running so bad that I had to have it put on a flatbed and then
get chauffered around to the state inspection station and license
bureau. Although, the tow truck driver did offer to take it off of my
hands for more than I paid for it. I've had it since February, 2003 and have done a lot of work on it. Cosmetically, there's too much to list.
I am still looking for the rear bumper strip and the front Pontiac
arrowhead emblem. Mechanically, I have replaced the carburetor with a
Holley 670cfm Street Avenger carb, installed an M&H Electric
Fabricators breakerless ignition, new master cylinder and power
booster, new battery, cap, rotor, plug wires and K&N air filter. My
car is now running great and looking great and I'm enjoying every
minute. It is definitely taking the edge off of my mid-life crisis and
I want to thank my wife for indulging me."CLICK->

Starlight Black 1973 GTO, right rear view. If you're not a big fan of the 1973 GTO's, this car should convince you to love them! It's slick, black, got some custom-looking integrated window louvers, and more. This was called the Collonade bodystyle, although I'm not sure where that name came from. The aftermarket wheel choice is excellent for this car. This was the first year for the cool new door handles. They're flatter, and you pull up on them to open the door.CLICK->
