Orange 1971 LeMans T-37, engine view. The base engine in a T-37 was 350ci eight-cylinder with a two-barrel carburetor. It had a compression ratio of 8.0:1, brake horsepower of 300 hp at 4800 rpm.

Orange 1971 LeMans T-37, data plate view. This one is interesting. The 71 after the ST is for the model year. The 23537 is for the Pontiac LeMans hardtop. The PON is for the Pontiac assembly plant. The 102195 is for the 2195th V8 equipped car off that line. It's an early number which might explain why the 257 interior trim number for Sandalwood (steering column is that color) is a 1970 code. The 78 is also a 1970 code for burgundy. The date code is 3E for 5th week of March. It's interesting how the VIN provided by the owner is not the same as the one on this VIN plate. From this VIN plate, it should be 235371P102195.
