Restoration is dirty work! In this funny photo, John Johnson and a helper were taking a break from preparing the car for the 2007 GTOAA Nationals. The hard work paid off, as the Judge got a Concours Silver Award. CLICK->
Cameo White 1969 Judge hardtop owned by Keith Francis from Mattapoisett Massachusetts. It is a PHS documented 1969 GTO Judge painted Cameo White with a Parchment interior, 400 Ram Air III, close-ratio 4-speed, 3.90 rear, power windows, 8-track player, and corner marker lights. This was our Picture Of The Week for 12-2-07. Keith tells us more, "I personally performed a 4.5 year frame-off restoration on this GTO in my home garage. This was completed in June of 2007. When it arrived from Pennsylvania in February of 2003, I was very excited. My friend's father was over and stated, 'I wouldn't give give you $5.00 for this piece of junk son.' I explained, 'This is a 1969 original GTO Judge that needed to be restored, it's a diamond in the rough.' He just shook his head and walked away. Yes, this was a very rough automobile. I was taken back by how much work it actually required. The good point is there was NO ROT, and the engine, trans, and rear end matched the VIN numbers. I had been searching for a white or black original 1969 GTO Judge for 10 years. When this came along I could not pass it up. Armed with perseverance, and a love of 1969
GTOs, I was not in a rush to restore her. I obtained the original parts and worked on the weekends and vacations to bring her back to life." CLICK->

One awesome Carousel Red 1969 GTO Judge RAIV in line at the 2008 Pure Stock Muscle Car Drag Race in Stanton, Michigan. This one has fixed headlights. Take a look at all the other muscle in the background. Nice! This was our Picture Of The Week for 10-19-08. Here's how the races are described on the website of the organizers: The Pure Stock Drags(TM) is a heart-pumping, octane-boosting race for stock muscle cars. The cars must be built like when they rolled off the assembly line, with few modifications. The result is a wide variety of beautiful, high-quality cars-that do more than sit in the garage. The two-day race is held in September at Mid-Michigan Motorplex, a modern drag strip in the center of the state. On Friday, drivers test and tune their cars and, the next day, they're paired with someone running similar times. On Saturday, each pair races in a best-of-three mini shootout, creating many close races. There's a friendly, fun atmosphere here. Come race your car, or simply enjoy watching the great matches. This is not a model car. It is real! Carousel Red 1969 Judge hardtop owned by Matt Fink. This was our Picture Of The Week for 1-18-09. Matt tells us, "I purchased it from original owner in 1980. It has an all original interior and is all numbers matching. It was the first GTO Judge sold in Charlotte, North Carolina. It is a Ram Air III with a 4-speed transmission. The original owner purchased car for his son. The son was killed in Vietnam and never got to see car. This car had a lot of personal meaning to the owner." CLICK->

Carousel Red 1969 Judge hardtop, left side view. The original spoilers (like this one) lined up much better than the repros. The end of a repro spoiler would be an inch or two higher that the top edge of the quarterpanel. The repro spoilers are high on the driver's side of the car, a fault in the design or molding process.
