Do you remember some of the events of the year 2000? In May of 2000, the "I love you" computer virus appeared. As of 2004, this was the most costly virus to business, causing upwards of 10 billion dollars in damage.

The car is pure white and has a blue interior. It is based in Rockwall, Texas. Randy says he is the third owner. The car has always been in New Mexico and West Texas. A really nice, clean, and fast running machine. He did a complete engine and under hood restoration.

Click the picture to see the stats on his fine ride. Jeff commented, "This car was purchased from a small classic car dealer from Madison Wisconsin in 1991. He found it in Texas and had it shipped to him the year before I got it. It was fully documented. I have the Protect-O-Plate warranty papers, and every repair receipt since it was new. The car had a 10+ year old paint job on it. The engine was fine and the interior only showed a little wear. In fact, this picture was taken soon after I got it." Jeff helps keep this web site in tune in his spare time. He also creates games for it, and does some behind-the-scenes programming wizardry.
CLICK-> 1969ht Midnight Green 1969 GTO being sandblasted. Jeff commented, "I took out the interior (except one seat) and most running trim and drove it 60 miles to my uncle, Jim Franko, who did the body work and paint. He took all the body panels off. Every screw came out with no problem - zero rust!. He ground off the paint and I came back and sandblasted the detail areas. I had never sand blasted before. I had sand everywhere on me, even with all the layers of clothes. I figured then why he asked me to blast it. We sealed off the interior to keep the sand out. All the white stuff on the ground and hood is sand."
CLICK-> 1969ht Midnight Green 1969 GTO undergoing a restoration. Jeff commented, "Each piece was prepared separately. All dents pulled, welded all the holes closed, and many layers of building primers and tons of sanding. Jim estimated that he spent 100 hours on each body panel."

CLICK-> 1969ht Car dealership advertisement showing a GTO. Jeff commented, "When Jim had my GTO at his dealership for paint, the owner took a particular interest in the car. He kept coming out to see the progress. A week later, the owner placed this ad in the local phone book. It looks like a 68 to me."
CLICK-> 1969ht Midnight Green 1969 GTO fresh back from paint. Jeff commented, "We put on the rear bumper and I drove it back to my parent's house, 60 miles away. I kept to back roads, but was trying to stay ahead of a rain storm. I had no side glass, headlights, or wipers."
CLICK-> 1969ht Midnight Green 1969 GTO re-assembly. Jeff commented, "The GTO was finally, ready for assembly of the details. It was two years since I took it apart, but we eventually figured out how I labeled and boxed all the parts. We got it 80% together when I had to take it back home - 300 miles! We got 4 miles down the road when we encountered a huge rain fall. I couldn't see anything - not even the lines on the road. Then there was a little break in the rain, and I spotted a red 66 GTO coming at me in my lane (or I was in his). I do not know how we missed each other. Then about half way home, a Semi ran me off onto the shoulder on the interstate!"
CLICK-> 1969ht Here's the Protect-O-Plate from Jeff Klein's Midnight Green 1969 GTO hardtop. Jeff added, "Years ago, having the Protect-O-Plate for your GTO was important. I don't see it advertised when GTOs come up for sale much anymore. This is the Protect-O-Plate from the original owner of my GTO. It was used as proof that a factory warranty on the car was tied to the current owner. The card's information is raised on the rear of the card for imprinting on service tickets during a repair. A booklet comes with the Protect-O-Plate which describes the 12 month / 12,000 mile entire Vehicle (except tires) and the 5 year / 50,000 drive-train warranty."

Jeff added, "It's been nearly 8 years since this car was repainted, and I still haven't taken better pictures than the ones I took before it was painted. It's hard to take pictures of a dark green car. This is another from before it was painted."
