This is Michael Payan's first GM classic car, and he likes it a lot. This 1968 GTO was put away in storage in 1981 by its previous owner, and he paid storage all these years until recently when he stopped paying for the storage space (we'll never know why!). The storage unit contents were then auctioned off to pay the back rent, and Michael bought it. Really weird... it was like they just parked it there yesterday... the kid's 1981 homework was still in the notebook on the seat.

This car has 51,000 miles, and aside from the paint is in perfect condition. Michael says it was boring blue, but he wanted the orange color, so had it painted. It has a white top, and black interior. Also has the his/hers shifter, air, power antenna, and the hideaway front end (as you can see). Engine is the correct one, and it runs fine. Michael Payan is from Anaheim, California.

Paul Lourd shows us his red 1968 convertible. The engine is a 400, auto, PS, PB, low option car (has the AM fader radio!). He added the Cragars, but still has the original PMD wire wheel covers.

A "foreign" car. Look at the front plate. This 1968 GTO belongs to an industrial mechanic in Mora Sweden named Per Mattsson. It is a Ram Air car.

Another view of this overseas Pontiac. The owner says the
engine in this 1968 GTO is a 1968 YC-code 400 with #15 heads and a #7028263
carburetor, manual transmission, 10 bolt rearend (2.90 gear..not the original
rearend). The most interesting part of this car is the Ram Air hood and
air cleaner! It looks like the hood has been there from the beginning.
The original verdoro green paint was seen under the new dark purple paint.

Dan and Evamarie Harrison have this 1968 GTO convertible. When he found this car, his two sons fell in love with it. It was just a shell but had 90% of its parts thrown inside of it and they were all labeled. What luck. They finally got it on the road for summer cruise-ins. The Harrisons are from Wadsworth, Ohio.

This 1968 GTO was restored in about 1988. Its from Darren Pallen (dpallen@sprint.ca). He says he is now regaining interest in the car. It is fully optioned with A/C, cruise, PW, hood tach, Dual-Gate shifter, power trunk, etc. It is an original 400 H.O. car with the engine rebuilt to stock specs. Darren is from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.

Dan Cubric (dcubric@murphyjahn.com) emailed me this panaramic photo from the Woodward GTO Weekend '99 in Sterling Heights Michigan. You can see a 1968 car parked next to a sharp '67.

Mike Fleming purchased this 1968 LeMans convertible. The interior has been redone in original black vinyl (hot in summer). This had a 400 CID with Turbo 400 trans. It now has a rebuilt 350 in it with Edelbrock 4 barrel carb, Weiland manifold and headers. A '68 GTO hood has replaced the original hood. The exterior paint has been redone.

Fire Engine Red 1968 GTO convertible owned by Ralph Monis from Inglewood, Washington. Ralp says: "Just wanted to let you know that this is a great site for pictures, tips, inspiration and sharing the pride and joy of owning a Pontiac. Here are a coupla pics of my 68 GTO convertible. May not be concours material but I love it anyway. Engine was just upgraded to a 455 and it turns a TH400 (just rebuilt) w/ B&M shifter. Plan on redoing the interior and electrical. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!!!"
