Green 1968 GTO model built by Mike Hanson for John Donovan. It's built from an original issue 1968 MPC kit. John tells us, "Mike hand-painted the optional lower rocker panel stripes in white, added resin Rally II wheels/red-line tires, an antenna, and minor engine plumbing and wiring. Everything else is built box-stock. I've been wanting a super-detailed model of a '68 GTO for the longest time. This is one of the first models I had commissioned to be built by Mr. Hanson and I'm very pleased with his work. As for me, I'm 43 years old and have been building and collecting models for many years. I did build models when I was younger, but didn't get back into seriously building and collecting until the last 10 years."

Primavera Beige 1968 GTO convertible owned by Scott Stocklin from Northboro, Massachusetts. Scott exclaimed, "This is an extremely rare factory GTO color combination. The car also sports the very rare Wire Wheel discs. It has 40,000 original miles. The engine is 400/350hp and is untouched. It has an automatic transmission (TH400) with wood wheel and air conditioning."

Primavera Beige 1968 GTO convertible, interior view. What's the little doohickey on this end of the door? Looks like it has two screws holding it on. I don't have one of those on my '68. Must be a rare option.

Yellow 1968 GTO convertible owned by Mike Massey from Pleasanton, California. This was our Picture Of The Week for 2/6/05. Mike tells us more, "I bought this car after the previous owner spent $75K putting it exactly how he wanted. He had a new Ferrari coming in, so the GTO had to go to clear up garage space. I took it off his hands. It started life as a red/red/black top 400 2bbl (265 horse) car. It's now a built 455 (505 horse), TH400, and 12-bolt 3.55 rear. The car is absolutely immaculate, and I love driving it! I've always wanted a convertible GTO, and when I saw this one I scooped it up."

Burgundy 1968 LeMans convertible owned by Howard Botting from North Syracuse, New York. This was our Picture Of The Week for 8-26-07. Howard has this story to share, "I bought my LeMans two years ago from one of my college buddies. He actually had helped his best friend in High School restore the car way back then (1983/84-ish). Originally a Nightshade Green car repainted to the burgundy you see now. Not 100% sure if this is 'Flambeau Burgundy' or not. All in all, I thought it's a pretty nice color. It gets tons of compliments, even for a 23 year old paint job! I even took third place in class at its first POCI show. Not that I want it to be a show car or a drag car, just a nice cruiser that me and my family can enjoy!"
