Mayfair Maize 1968 GTO convertible owned by Raymond Barr from Westminster, Maryland. Raymond comments, "There's not too many 1968 Mayfair Maize convertible GTOs around. So I'm offering pictures of mine for all to see. The 1968 convertible GTO - my dream car. It's got a 1970 YS code motor with Edelbrock RPM Performer intake, Holley 750 CFM D/P carburetor, Pertronics ignition, new shocks, brakes, tires, seats, door panels, carpet, console, clutch, and convertible top. Year One and eBay must love me! It's also got a 12-bolt rear (Safe-T-Track) with 3:55 gears, working hideaway headlights, and an M-21 4-speed tranny. I sold a red 68 GTO hardtop to get to this car. Not a bad switch don't you think?" CLICK->

You can see the Pertronix coil mounted on the firewall. This car has the go-fast stuff. It also has the maximum effort manual brakes. I say maximum effort, cause you'd have to mash down on the brake pedal real hard to get this goat to stop! CLICK->

Ray decided to attack the engine. He changed from a timing chain to Accu-Drive timing gears. If you have any experience
with the benefits of this method, let's discuss it in the viewer comments link below. CLICK->
Ray added a Ram Air IV Cam and lifters: Duration @.050 I-231 E-240, AD I-.308 E-.320 Cam Lift I-.313 E-.313 Valve Lift I-.517 E-.517 Lobe Center I-112deg E-115deg. CLICK->
Ray added 1.65 Scorpion roller rockers, Crane Cam hardened push rods, and Ram Air IV valve springs. Roller rockers require less oil and have less friction, so the oil is not heated as much. CLICK->

Metallic Blue 1968 GTO convertible owned by Kevin Mack from Los Angeles, California. Kevin had this to say about his car, "This original 68 convertible was junked by a movie studio after being used as a camera car for Dukes of Hazzard reunion movie. A friend of mine bought it at an auction, then gave to me. After four years, many nightmares and too much money spent, I finally have my dream car. It's 500 horsepower but runs great and is fun to drive." Kevin says he has some 'before' and 'in process' pictures. Hopefully, he will share them with us too. CLICK->
