Let's do a frame-off on a 1969 GTO Judge hardtop In words and pictures.
This is the frame after being painted.
Here you can see the detail of the right front disc brake assembly with the
tire off the car.
Front view of frame.
Closeup of frame with left front suspension detail.
Closeup of frame with right front suspension detail.
You can see some steering components in this view of the frame.
See the lines running down the frame to the rear end?
The rolling frame with wheels.
The left rear frame in front of the left rear wheel. You can see more routing of lines.
The rear of the rear end. Look at the sway bar and the lines.
Left front frame with brake system components visible. Nice!
Driver's side frame rail showing the location of clips which hold the lines in place.
It's not often that you get to see this top view of a freshly-restored steering box.
Disc brake and suspension parts on the frame.
Left front brake and suspension parts are a work of art.
Another brake shot.
A large detail shot of the Ram Air 3 engine resting in the frame. The photo is divided
up into 9 enlargements seen in a grid.
Engine closeup of the alternator area is a good example to follow.
Restored Muncie 4-speed transmission left side.
The Muncie transmission has the VIN stamped in the top of the case here.
Muncie mated to Detroit.
Doors are off. Interior is out. Fenders are off.
Trunk lid is off. Glass is out.
The lower rear quarter panel was cut out to do a repair. This is a common repair
for any show car that has seen rust or body damage.
This panel was cut away to reveal the rear wheelhouse.
The right rear corner of the rear window. This is an area of frequent rustout.
Another area of common rustout is at the bottom of the windshield. These rust holes
were revealed after media blasting. There were also rust holes in the trunk floor.
The hood is being sanded by an invisible man.
Primed parts hanging around the shop.
Dashboard guts as seen from behind.
More dashboard guts. This looks like the part behind the heater controls.
The dash area and steering wheel can be seen. This is a 4-speed car with no
console, with Rally gauges, clock, hood tach, power steering, power disc brakes,
AM/FM radio (non stereo) with rear speaker. Note how you can see the "RAM AIR"
knob under the steering column.
Side view. Left side.
Side view. Right side with hood up.
Finished engine.
Finished engine. A closer, brighter view.
Left front with hood and trunk lid up.
This is what a dog sees before he lifts his leg.
Right front with hood closed. This shot should inspire anyone to go out and
finish their current restoration project.
Left rear. See the tail lights and the cool Judge spoiler on the trunk lid.
