Basic Search Options - Genetics
Model: Select the Pontiac model you'd like to see. If you choose All, then all models will be shown. If you choose GTO, then both GTOs and Judges will be shown. Other choices are Tempest, LeMans, T-37, Ventura, Custom S, and Other. You can select multiple models by holding down the [Ctrl] key while clicking on other selections within the box. Selecting other will allow you to see other car models and non-car items pictured in this site (e.g. memorabilia, parts & assesories, and other items of interest)
Year: Select the model year you'd like to see. If you choose All, then all years will be shown. You can select multiple years by holding down the [Ctrl] key while clicking on other selections within the box.

You can select multiple conditions by holding down the [Ctrl] key while clicking on other selections within the box. The following are descriptions of the other selections within the box:
Restoration: Select this condition and you'll see cars undergoing a restoration. You might see only a frame or a close up of a wheel-well. Exterior and interior colors might be assigned according to what the finished car will have, but the car might be pictured in primer.
Pasture: Select this condition and you'll see cars that are in junk yards or behind someone's garage. These cars are not drivable, and might be in pieces.
Artwork: Select this condition and you'll see various artist's renditions of cars. Not to be confused with an advertisement.
Advertisement: Select this condition and you'll see scans of various GTO advertisements.
Modelkit: Select this condition and you'll see scale model kits (mostly plastic) that can be built up and painted by skilled hobbyists.
Modelcollector: Select this condition and you'll see scaled factory assembled models (mostly metal) that are mainly purchased by adult collectors.
Modelpromo: Select this condition and you'll see scaled models (mostly plastic) obtained from dealerships as promotional items when the cars were originally sold.
Toy: Select this condition and you'll see various toys created for children to play with.
Paperwork: Select this condition and you'll get scans of varous types of paperwork documentation included with some of these cars.
Exterior Color: Type in the exterior paint color of the cars you'd like to see. If you choose All, then all exterior colors will be shown. It is a good idea to start with simple color names first. Try colors like green first. Later, come back and try actual color names, like verdoro green. Many of the cars contained in this site are not defined by their actual color names, since it could not be verified. We've tried to define each car to work with simple color names as well as actual color names. For example, Palomino Copper is also defined as gold (so both will work). There is one exception: searching on only red cars will not display the carousel red cars - but searching on orange will! The color name you type is case insensitive - orange is the same as Orange.
Interior Color: Type in the interior seat color of the cars you'd like to see. If you choose All, then all interior colors (including those with no interior color defined) will be shown. It is a good idea to start with simple color names first. Try colors like tan first. Later, come back and try actual color names, like saddle. Many of the cars contained in this site are not defined by their actual color names, since it could not be verified. We've tried to define each car to work with simple color names as well as actual color names. For example, saddle is also defined as gold and tan (so all three will work). The color name you type is case insensitive - gold is the same as Gold. If we could not see the color of the interior for a car then we did not define an interior color.
Conv/Vinyl Roof Color: Select the color of the convertible or vinyl roof top you'd like to see. If you choose All, then all colors will be shown. If you choose a top color, you will only get convertible or vinyl topped cars, since roof color is only defined for these types of cars. If we couldn't figure out the color of the convertible or vinyl top, this field will be left blank. We made this one easier by giving you a small set of choices: black, white, tan/gold/brown, blue, red, and green. Again, you can select multiple roof colors by holding down the [Ctrl] key while clicking on other selections within the box.
Roof Type: Select the type of roof option on cars you'd like to see. If you choose All, then all roof types will be shown. Choose the hardtop option to get all cars which have no pillar between the front and rear side windows when they are rolled down. In other words, you get one large unobstructed window opening when both the front and rear side windows are rolled down. Choose the pillar/post option to get all cars which have a pillar/post between the front and rear side windows. Pillar/post'ed cars were options in '64 through '70 and in '74. Choose the convertible option to get all cars which have retractable tops. Choose the wagon option to see station wagons. Choose the vinyl option to get all cars which have a vinyl or cordova top. You can select multiple roof types by holding down the [Ctrl] key while clicking on other selections within the box.
Advanced Search Options - Ownership
Owner: Type in the name of the owner whose cars you'd like to see. If you choose All, then cars for any owner (including those with no owner defined) will be shown. We don't know who owns most of the cars on this site, so this option may not yield much information. Try only the first or last name first. The order is not important and it is case insensitive - Dan is treated the same as dan. Sorry, sometimes the name that appears with a car is the name of the person who emailed the picture to us, not the actual car owner.
Pics with a Story?: Mark this checkbox to get pictures that contain a story about the car as told by its owner. Only pictures with a story will be seen. Try not to define too many other items to search on when checking this box, or you will not get many stories. I recommend checking only this box so that you get all stories, or specify only a year or model.
Email Address: Type in the internet email address of the owner whose cars you'd like to see. If you choose All, then cars for any email address (including those with no email address defined) will be shown. Using this search option can produce a very limited number of responses (if any). You must type in the entire email address correctly, although it is case insensitive - GTODan@aol.com is the same as gtodan@aol.com. This is the internet electronic mail address of the owner, not his/her US mail street address!
Location: Type in the geographic location (city, state, country) of the owner(s) whose cars you'd like to see. If you choose All, then cars from any location (including those with no location defined) will be shown. We've tried to include both the whole name and abbreviation of states in the United States. In other words, you can type in either Texas or TX to get cars from that state. We have not defined the country for car in the United States. The location you type is case insensitive - Texas is the same as texas. Check out out search page where you can select pictures from all 50 states.
VIN#: Type in the Vehicle Identification Number of the car you'd like to see. If you choose All, then cars with any VIN# (including those with no defined VIN#) will be shown. Using the search option is not very useful at this time, since few cars are defined with VIN#s. It will be more useful later as we get more defined.

You can select multiple image sizes by checking multiple boxes.
Setting: Select the setting that you'd like to see the cars displayed with in the picture. If you choose All, then cars from all settings (including those with no defined setting) will be shown. You can select from cars in some type of car show, which usually means the hood is open. You can select cars in a drag race, ones whose tires are smoking, those doing wheelstands, and ones with girls featured. You can select multiple settings by holding down the [Ctrl] key while clicking on other selections within the box.

If you choose All, then cars from any car show (including those with no defined car show name and those not in a car show) will be shown. If you choose other, then you'll get cars from those in a show but we couldn't figure out which one. You can select multiple car shows by holding down the [Ctrl] key while clicking on other selections within the box.
View: Select which view of the car is shown in the picture. If you choose none or All, then cars with any view will be shown. If you select engine, then you'll get close up pictures of engines - not front end shots of the entire car with the hood open. If you select interior, then you'll get close up pictures of the interior. And likewise, if you select trunk, you'll get close up pictures of trunks (or boots if you're from England).
