Pontiac offered eight total exterior paint colors on the 2004 GTO. There were seven standard colors: Phantom Black, Quicksliver, Torrid Red, Impulse Blue, Barbados Blue, Cosmos Purple, and Yellow Jacket. The eighth color, Pulse Red was a limited edition color which was only allowed to be ordered on the last 800 units of production.

There where only two options you could select when ordering a Torrid Red 2004 GTO. Option One; you could choose either the black or red leather seats. Option Two; you could select between the 4-speed automatic or the 6-speed manual transmissions. Optional seat colors were not available on the Yellow Jacket, Barbados Blue, and Cosmos Purple 2004 GTOs.

You can open the trunk on a 2004 GTO four different ways! One, you can press the remote control trunk release on the ignition key. Two, you can press the trunk release button located inside the passenger side glove compartment. Three, you can pull the little tab located on the passenger rear seat back (under the headrest). Four, you can pull the cable from inside the trunk. Of course you'd have to be closed inside the trunk to use the fourth option. There is no keyhole in the trunk lid like most cars.

The speedometer in the 2004 GTO goes up to 200 MPH. The GTO's top speed is electronically limited to 155 MPH. With a button, you can select the speed readout to display on an LCD in either miles per hour or kilometers per hour. The higher numbers are for kilometers. 200 kilometers per hour is 124 miles per hour.

For yellow cars, black was the only interior option. Below is a yellow interior on a preproduction 2004 GTO. Unfortunately, due to quality issues, the yellow seats and interior trim had to be dropped for the production models. Only the yellow gauges remained.
