Endangered species! Juan Asano Jr. shares his vision of the rare 1973 GTO tiger. This is our Picture Of The Week for 3/2/08. This layout would make a great-looking t-shirt.

Smiley: That is some very nice artwork. The cartoon makes me laugh.
abodysite Pete: Actually it IS a t-shirt now. (storytime) When John Asano drew a pic of my GTO and gave me this pic (4800 dpi hi-res version of course) I almost messed myself. There it was, a cool drawing of MY car. MY car...too cool, so I posted a smaller version up at my website, abodysite.com, in the ARTWORK section, and then made up a few shirts for myself with a home print and iron-on kit from Canon. Worked out great. When a shirt wears out or gets too greasy, I just make another one! It's pretty cool when you're at the bar or pub and somebody says while pointing at the shirt 'you'd like to have one of those someday eh?' to which I reply 'I'm driving it right now', and point out the window to the parking lot. Pretty funny sometimes. :) (shameless plug) By the way, to see the real life model for this great drawing go to: http://abodysite.com/73gtomine.html (Sean, I've always had a reciprocating link to your site.....since the late 90s!!! wink wink nudge nudge sa...)
dragonhead00: Hey, guys...this is John Asano. I wasn't sure if Pete made the shirt. I drew this after seeing Pete's site and a flood of memories came back (I owned a 73 Luxury Lemans). Sean, thanx for picking my drawing. I am honored. I love any site that gives these forgotten gems a place to shine! I can't wait to get my hands on one of these cars.
Homark: I remember seeing this pic in March of 2008. This thing looks WWILD!
Hawk: This is great. It was lame of Pontiac to stop using the 'tiger' nickname in 1970. That year, Pontiac went with 'the Great One'. If you ask me, 'tiger' sounds more menacing than 'great one'.
