Greg Carter: 'Cool' another 73 makes Picture of the Week!
Paul Salow: Hey Mike, can you send Sean more photos of this nice GTO? Would like to see the interior too! I'm beginning to be a fan of the 73 thru 77 Lemans/GTO body style. Never really liked it before, but lately, I've become more aware of the uniqueness of this style. In the right color (which yours is), these look stunning. That color blue is amazing! Good choice! It's too bad the 73 GTO didn't get the Grand Am's dash and front end, but the 73 GTO is still a great car. Also, just my opinion, but Pontiac should have kept on with the GTO being on the Lemans body, and carried thru the rest of the 70's, while the Lemans still was being built. I even think the 78 thru 81 versions of the Lemans and Grand Am, could have been great GTO's with the right engines. The 74 GTO on the Ventura platform never made much sense. GTO's had always been based on the Lemans/Tempest, and should have remained that way.
Hawk: The Ventura II wasn't a compelling platform for a musclecar, but to me it LOOKED better than the Le Mans body. Therefore, I wish that Pontiac had put the '73 GTO on the Ventura body. What does it for me is that I'd rather look out over that shaker scoop than the NACA scoops that the actual '73 GTO had.
