Burgundy 1968 LeMans convertible owned by Howard Botting from North Syracuse, New York. This was our Picture Of The Week for 8-26-07. Howard has this story to share, "I bought my LeMans two years ago from one of my college buddies. He actually had helped his best friend in High School restore the car way back then (1983/84-ish). Originally a Nightshade Green car repainted to the burgundy you see now. Not 100% sure if this is 'Flambeau Burgundy' or not. All in all, I thought it's a pretty nice color. It gets tons of compliments, even for a 23 year old paint job! I even took third place in class at its first POCI show. Not that I want it to be a show car or a drag car, just a nice cruiser that me and my family can enjoy!"

Convertible Top Color: white
Interior Color: parchment white
Visible Options: rally I wheels, mud flaps
Owner: Howard Botting ( ) from North Syracuse New York NY

webebadd: Looks great with Rally 1's. Thanks for not making a GTO clone!
Anthony Burger: Congrats Howard! That smile says it all!
1-1969GTO: Hi nice car, I own a Red 69 GTO in Camillus. Now move over and let the young one drive :o) (edited)
gtobob: Ya know, it's really refreshing when a LeMans or Tempest owner keep their cars what they really are. This is a beautiful car! Sure I have a GTO, I also have several other Pontiacs that aren't GTO's and sometimes I get better comments on the other cars! Save it for what it is and drive the hell out of it!
sanders.bill@insightbb.com: The smile on that young lady's face says it all. She will look back in 15/20 yrs and understand what a special moment this is. My advice to the owner of this car... blow this picture up to poster size and hang it in place of honor in the house. Very kool picture.
techteacher5561: Thanks guys for the kind comments. Yes, it is staying a LeMans! Yes, the young lady has a big smile. She was visiting us for the summer from Northern Ireland on the Project Children program. I made sure to take her out for a cruise with the family. Now I'll have to send her an email with a link to this page. 1-1969GTO, do you ever go down to the regional market on Thursdays or Wegmans in N Syracuse on Wed for the car cruises? Love to meet you and see your GTO. I'm in the local POCI club and there are several real nice 69 GTOs. Howard
1-1969GTO: techteacher5561, That's great. I am a POCI member too. I had no idea that there is a local club. I don't go to N.SYR much but I can. Please e-mail me. mmattiac@twcny.rr.com, my car is on the last couple of pages in the 69 GTO section, its RED.
Evan Scott: Someday that will be me and my two little girls. . .
Wboro68LeMans: Nice car - mine looks identical! I live in Whitesboro (Utica), and your color definitely looks identical to mine. I also have a white top, Pearl/Parchment interior. I'm just starting a restoration to be done over the winter - email is wjkline13@yahoo.com.
1-1969GTO: Just an update to all the PONTIACTION people out there.... this car will be at the August 2011 Norwalk Ohio-Pontiac shoot out...[lucky dog].
