RonK: | | I guess I won't be able to claim my GTO never saw rain when I go to sell it! |
81X11: | | I read all the latest car magazines. Both Road and Track and Automobile magazine loved the new GTO. They liked the styling, praising Pontiac for not gluing a lot of plastic flares and gee-gaws along the sides. The R&T car was bright yellow, the Automobile car was Torrid Red. Car and Driver liked the performance of the car, but call the styling of the interior and exterior bland. Their car was Quicksilver over solid black interior, with no contrasting color on the inside. Makes me think that the color of these cars has a big effect on peoples view of it. |
denman7: | | Like Spartan warriors, the army of 2004 GTOs ready to go to battle. I love it! Bring it on! |
Blackmjc: | | (sighs) Why can't GM realize that we ALL hate it, it would look GREAT as something OTHER than a Goat. What did they think? - only 40 and over men are gonna be able to buy these things. There will probably only be a few thousand sold, only for performance sake. That of course, is the best part. If they made it with a long grille, stacked headlights, harder edges and a little chrome, or even taken fans sketches into concideration - they'd be selling them to MILLIONS of GTO fans! WE are their fans and profit base. I don't get it. The interior is too flat, and ricer-like, especially with the two colors in blue and yellow. They look too much like the new Nissans, which is BAD. We'll just see if they still think they made the right decision with this FORMER 'Steel Beast' (from a 22yr female) |
Chris: | | We ALL hate it huh? Funny that, Some people do actually like the design you know. They are Actually selling some to Classic GTO owners aren't they.... |
DJEZC: | | I am not buying an '04 because the styling looks like a Honda or Nissan. It needs only 4 things: 1) Hood scoops; 2) Connected to a real Ram Air set up; 3) a Hood tach; and 4) Tail light styling treatment that evokes GTO. They could put all those styling cues in without cladding or cheap looking plastic. |
tatt2d: | | The performance is this cars only saving grace to me. It looks like a Grand Am on steroids. |
Bvonkow@AOL.com: | | This car needs more than a few changes. It needs HELP with the appearance. I'm a old GTO owner and I didn't even take a closer look when I first saw a picture of it on the internet. I don't care that GM has been making and selling this car under a different name in Australia. It dosen't pop out at you like the original GTO'S. |
DennisM: | | To RonK, I'm curious! You mention about when you sell your GTO, you can't claim it never saw rain. Why and when do you plan on selling it? Let me know so I can buy it! I know the reason will not be for boredom, or not loving it anymore! Do you think it'd be because you'll lose your license and you'd rather have someone own it that'll most likely do the same? LOL, just kidding! I hope you enjoy your new GTO. I'll just be sitting here sulking because I don't have one coming to me right now. Maybe in about a year or 2, but till then, I'll just drool over the new ones here until I finally see one! (edited) |
