Hawk:   I know that starting from '72, GTO was only an option package. But I wish that Pontiac had declared that auto-trans GTOs would be available ONLY with console shift. Column shift seems so unsporty and pedestrian, and therefore inconsistent with what a GTO was supposed to be: A sporty, macho musclecar.
