'Killroy's' Owner in N.M.: | | It's Me the Chick on the hood. I was wondering if any of you GTO lovers out there have done your own headliner? Sean warned me I'd get negative responses. Me & my Bro are going to do one. My Bro has worked on car upholstery before. Any positive pointers please? |
pa67smith: | | If you have the cloth and bows style headliner, the key is patience. Take time removing the bows out of car, let the new headliner stretch out a bit in the sunlight before installing so the wrinkles are almost gone. Turn upside down and check the pockets of each bow and make sure they're open all the way through before you install. My experience has been one bow pocket was sewn shut half way through. Imagine finding that out while trying to pull the bow through in the car. You'll need a heat gun a hair dryer with low speed setting will do. Check out a few websites on headliners, there's a few tricks I've forgotten about. |
1-1969GTO: | | The only positive thing on my mind is that it is February and your pic makes me think spring is on the way ;o) |
