Tracy's Sapphire Trance blue 1972 GTO at a car show. It was finished in time for a couple legs of the Hot Rod Power Tour. Tracy adds, "I had this girl since I was 16 (1996) and was an everyday driver till I was 21. It spent the next few year years in storage till I started the frame off. I started by replacing the rusted frame with a overkill vert frame just to give the competition a little advantage. I replaced both 1/4s, full trunk, and inner and outer wheel wells. I'm on my 4th motor, 3rd rear end, and 3rd transmission. I'd like to thank the following for motor and head work Jim at MBJ in Granite City Ilinois, body by Charlie at Lowder Auto Owensville Missouri. The rest was done with the help of cold Budweiser. See you in my rear view some time soon." Here are some specs. Engine: 400 block w/Eagle stroker kit= 462, 6x-4 heads milled to 94cc, Custom Butler hyd roller cam, and Performer RPM Mighty Demon 850. Trans: Rebuilt TCI Street fighter TH400. Rear End: 12 bolt from a 66 Chevelle w/373 gears. Interior: Low back white buckets and all Phantom Autometer gauges. Wheels: Centerline Convo Pro wheels with MT drag radials.

freakchief366: Hey Tracy nice ride. Why the '71 grilles? (edited)
1-1969GTO: with all the engine mods...is it fast? times?
Owner: I hate the 72 grill is why I installed the 71 grills. As for times I only have one pass with this set up and it was 12.12 sec @ 113 MPH
Roy: I like the '71 grilles better, too.
