It's a good idea to use junk tires and wheels when you paint. It looks good Michael. Michael fills us in, "I am in the process of converting to floor shift/bucket seat car and changing to a white interior. I have the brackets pretty much welded in. I need to put the dash and steering column back in and then when the car gets painted put everything back together. In the garage I have a 400/TH400 awaiting a swap for the 350. Probably going to do that before it gets painted since less chance of scratches. The Rally IIs I sandblasted during some free time during my Auto Classes at school and some BFG Radial TAs will go on them. Can't wait to drive her." In 2011, Michael provided this update, "Another update years later, still have the 72, did a GTO 'tribute' with it and painted it Orbit Orange. I sent in some newer pictures, although as tastes change I will detune the car a little and go back to stock appearing as with the original color/interior with the exception of keeping the bucket seats/floor shift."

Interior Color: sandalwood tan

Mike Williams: Just an update on the car, while block sanding the primer, I noticed the guy who primed the car loaded the car with bondo. I ended up taking the car down to bare metal and starting all over again. A guy in my GTO club is doing the remaining bodywork and painting the car red for me. During the meantime, the front suspension was redone. I put together a 400 with a TH400 that's waiting in the corner of the garage waiting to go in once the paint is applied. Should be back on the road by Spring.
