Evan Scott: According to a GTO book that I have, neither of the first two styles of hood scoops were positioned on the hood in such a way to allow much air into them although they looked fantastic. Were the '71-'72 hood scoops any more useful? I don't particularly care for the way they look. I think the entire front end of these cars look overly done. But, were/are the scoops any better?
