After Troy sold his blue 1968 GTO in 1987, he purchased this one. It was gray when he purchased it. Troy adds, "It went through several changes over 4 1/2 years. I did some digging and found out that it was originally white with a black vinyl top, and had the rare 2-barrel option on the 400. It was an automatic with a Hurst Dual-Gate shifter. It was gray when I bought it, but I always wanted a red GTO. So after I saved enough cash, I took it to the bodyshop. They stripped it to bare metal, ground out any rust, installed two new full quarters, fiberglass valance, hood tach, and applied the 1970 Cardinal Red paint."
