Ken Skistimas spotted Monkeemobile #2 and snapped a series of detailed pictures. Ken comments, "Here's a few shots of the #2 Monkeemobile I took at the Elk Grove High School car show in Elk Grove, California. As you can see, it's starting to show its age, but in general is in decent shape for a 40 year old car. After the Elk Grove show, the car is scheduled to undergo a frame up restoration that will be unveiled at SEMA this fall." See that 1969 Judge in the background? Ken snapped a shot of that one too. After these photos, the Monkees car had a frame-off restoration and was in fact seen at SEMA 2006.

gtobob:   Hey, just to set the record straight, the Monkeemobile at my show at Elk Grove High School was number one, not number two. The team that restored the car are good friends of mine up here in Sacramento. When the car was torn down and the paint removed, several clues indicated that it was number one.
